Open Farm is fantastic country meets town event, and is deservedly very well supported. Good to join MP @paulbristow79 and organiser @mhssly this afternoon.
π THORNEY - OPEN FARM DAY π
Great to be at the Open Farm Day at Park Farm - Thorney - today π
Massive thank you to Michael Sly and every one who has worked so hard to put this event together. π
It is on tomorrow as well - cracking day out! π
Why I dislike Farage: a thread.
Iβm very open about being a Tory.. Toryism is innate. I see life from a Burkean, small-c perspective: Family, society, world - Tory solutions are βbetterβ (either more moral, or more efficient) than leftist solutions.
Stayed in the chamber to make my point, that being : @Cllrfitzgerald and his administration initiated the spirit of cooperation with opposition parties putting in place the FSWG to allow all voices to be heard.
To have debate shut down by any member is an ominous development.
Many of Conservative group have walked out of the Council chamber - this is the state of Peterborough City Council Conservative group. Vitriolic, unpleasant, nasty and stupid. At least Steve Allen has the decency to stay . Defeat beckons and they donβt like it! @CllrSteveAllen
Let's stop the parking π
The new positioning allows better drop off space and resolves the road blocking issues for vehicles turning out of Cross Street, but clearly the inappropriate parking needs to be resolved.
The row of damaged bollards needed to be removed. They were incongruous, untidy and duplicated the newer set.
The area is not appropriate for parking and measures need to be put in place to ensure any vehicular use is for drop off only - the area already serving that purpose.
Did anyone hear the @AlexChalkChelt interview this morning and think it sounded like a government minister who actually knew what they were talking about? Didnβt agree with him on everything but was pretty impressed.
Maximum on-the-spot fines for litter, graffiti & fly-tipping to increase under the PMβs Anti-Social Behaviour Action Plan πͺ
Fines will increase from Β£400 to Β£1,000. I will never stop raising the issue of flytipping and lowlife who turn our neighbourhoods into dumping grounds π
Attended an 80th birthday party last night at Bedford Hall, Thorney β¦ superb venue, good bad, friendly people. Well worth seeking out for your own event β¦
Some (who should know better) saying local elections were a judgement on @RishiSunak - they were notβ¦
I knocked on thousands of doors, not one person raised concerns over #Rishi or his leadership.
People donβt want drama, they want delivery - Rishi should be left to crack on.
Delighted to have been re-elected as Deputy Leader of the Conservative group this evening, and looking forward to working with Cllr Wayne Fitzgerald again - focusing on the important issues which affect our City.
Having the support of our Party Chairman @GregHands and our Prime Minister @RishiSunak this week in #PETERBOROUGH is a definite endorsement of the efforts and hard work of @paulbristow79 and gives a
morale boost to the candidates π and leader of PCC @Cllrfitzgerald .
Getting the message out in Peterborough for the Council elections on 4th May.
Keep Peterborough Conservative for a better-run Council with solid finances,
under Wayne Fitzgerald & his team.
Labour left us with βno moneyβ last time they ran the country.
