People are entitled to their opinions especially when it comes to media but imo that’s the point.

It’s very relevant to today’s society where the guy DOES get off easy and the woman is left to clean up the pieces.

Throughout the movie up until his death, Bear is constantly choosing the ‘easiest way out’ or rather not even making decisions at all. It shows that even when he’s given a way out, albeit a sucky one, he keeps avoiding it even though he knows nikki is being tortured and he caused it. Even SHE gives him a way out and he doesn’t take it.

He doesn’t get the punishment he ‘deserves’ but if he did the movie would not be nearly as impactful tbh
