I think your work-in-progress model is good. With some improved animations and stuff it has potential to be even better.

Truth is that some people online project their own frustrations by making mean comments instead having figured out a better outlet that doesn't try to offend.

My advice would be not to engage with such comments and try to just treat them like spam mail you wouldn't bother with to check or much think about.

It's different if it's actually accompanied with constructive feedback and written either neutral or politely. That is actually useful form of feedback sometimes but even then you should be critical about it and figure out if people agree.
