EXCITING Cloud’s Weather Announcement!
When I was five years old, a tornado came within a mile of our family home. Since then, I have always been interested in meteorology and trying to keep people safe and informed.
Here is a photo of me tracking Hurricane Dennis (2005) at age 10. While the worst stayed well west of Starke, some in our area did see significant impacts.
We did not have internet then. I used information from weather radio, AM/FM radio, and local television to create a graphic with the latest information in a computer paint program.
While the weather tools I currently use are more advanced than that, to keep you better informed, I will soon be utilizing some of the most advanced technology available anywhere in the world to track local North #FLwx and South #GAwx weather on.
I am proud to announce that Cloud’s Weather will be using Baron Lynx! These are the same type of weather graphics shown on-air by many television stations in the United States!
I cover 38 total North Florida and South Georgia counties and will continue my commitment to always be live when severe or tropical weather threatens any portion of our area. However, there will be a hyper-local focus on weather impacting the Starke, Keystone Heights, and Lake Butler vicinity.
With Baron Lynx, I will literally be able to zoom into the street you live on and see where rain and lightning are tracking. I will also be able to show forecast modeling in a more precise way to better tell you what to expect in the hours and days ahead.
Tune in this coming Monday, June 1st at 5:30PM (or earlier that day, if weather conditions warrant) to see the debut of the new graphics system! I will be live each weeknight at 5:30PM for a weather discussion broadcast that will generally be around 30 minutes in length.
In addition, stay tuned for another exciting Cloud’s Weather, LLC upgrades announcement tomorrow!
Overnight storms coming in from the north and west have shown recent signs of strengthening. These could head towards areas hit hard by the Sunday afternoon storms, like Bainbridge. If any local warnings are issued, I will be live. #GAwx#TeamNoSleep
There were a number of wind damage reports in Decatur and Grady counties this afternoon. Some trees and power lines were knocked down in both. Here is a look back at radar from the event. #GAwx
Clay & Duval Counties: Multiple strong thunderstorms are moving through. Expect gusty winds to around 40 mph, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. #FLwx
Early this afternoon, we are already seeing quite a bit of rain and lightning in North Central #FLwx. As of this post, all activity is currently below severe limits.
Good Sunday morning everyone! More showers and storms are expected this afternoon and evening. While a few strong to severe storms could be capable of producing damaging wind gusts anywhere in our area, the most favored zone is generally Southeastern #GAwx.
At 3:40 PM EDT, 2 ESE Waycross [Ware Co, GA] Public reports Tstm Wnd Dmg. Photos via social media of damage to several sheds at a local business in Waycross, including more than one flipped on its side. Time estimated via radar. #gawx https://t.co/Ucf5MufF0e
Here is a look at your weekend forecast. The best time to avoid heat and storms will be early in the morning or late at night. Isolated storms will become strong to severe. If severe warnings are issued for any of my 38 counties, I will be live with extended coverage. #FLwx#GAwx
