🇮🇳🇺🇸 Georgia has become the first U.S. state to outlaw “Hinduphobia” and anti-Hindu bigotry.
The state passed H.R. 701, officially condemning discrimination against Indian-Americans, then passed Senate Bill 375, making it a crime.
Atlanta’s suburbs have some of the fastest-growing Hindu populations in the entire nation.
An increase in anti-Indian rhetoric may stem from the H-1B visa debate, as Indians receive ≈70% of them.

@fourdtough@unusual_whales If you choose to eat at McDonald's, then don't be surprised by the unhealthy ingredients. In my view, it's loaded with processed ingredients and chemicals, so if you keep choosing to eat there, you're accepting what comes with it.
@OSUFanBigTime@omgsidewalks "Imagine being told your whole life that if you studied hard, earned a computer science degree, and chose a high-demand field, you'd have a stable, well-paying career. Then, you graduate into a market where entry-level hiring has slowed, and AI is automating your job.
@OSUFanBigTime@omgsidewalks "We're not talking about people with low-demand or niche degrees. We're talking about people who did what they were told was the smart thing: they earned computer science and other technical degrees. Now AI is automating parts of software development and changing hiring.
@OSUFanBigTime@omgsidewalks "It was a different time. Today's graduates are entering a world where many degrees have lost value because of AI, automation, and a rapidly changing job market. You're probably a baby boomer, so you don't realize how much the world has changed. That's the problem
@OSUFanBigTime@omgsidewalks "The problem is that the government is funding these companies, and that's not capitalism. If a company can't survive on its own, it should go bankrupt and make room for a new company to take its place. Under true capitalism.
@OSUFanBigTime@omgsidewalks "Under true capitalism, companies that can't remain profitable would fail. They wouldn't receive government bailouts to keep them afloat. Instead, they'd either adapt, be replaced by more competitive businesses, or go out of business."
@OSUFanBigTime@omgsidewalks "It's like you don't even look into the backgrounds of Elon Musk or Bill Gates. You just believe whatever the media tells you. You don't do your own research or look into the evidence yourself. Instead, you accept what you're told without questioning it."
@sirmarz1985@chairman_maiow Supplying jobs isn't enough. If a company needs government support just to stay in business, then it shouldn't be in business in the first place.
