Remembrance Day. Beautiful day, moving ceremony, Island Cruising Club laid a wreath at Salcombe’s war memorial as we do every year on behalf of members past and present.
Last weekend a party of club member took Lady Adrienne to Plymouth to be lifted at Plymouth Yacht Haven to be Antifouled and other essential maintenance items. All the work was undertaken by club members. They left on the Friday and returned the following Monday.
Lady Adrienne, the Club House, safely re located to the western side of The Bag for the winter on the pontoon.
In the picture, members are preparing the new generator so that it could be hauld up the side of Lady Adrienne, down into the galley and then into the engine room.
After a difficult season, Island Spirit comes out for the winter refit but this season, we have taken out the rudder as it needs some TLC . Now planning for 2021.

With the sad reality that Egremont isn’t coming home to Salcombe we need to find another way forward to keep the ICC alive.
We left Salcombe for Plymouth and someone shouted, Dolphins to Port, No Starboard, No All-around as we crossed Bigbury Bay.
We weren’t watching them but they were playing with us on Island Spirit for 30 minutes.

We left Salcombe on Island Spirit with a SW 3-4 wind, one tact out to sea and a single tack back into Hope Cove for lunch at anchor. The Magic of sailing with the Island Cruising Club on Sunday and we were the only yacht there.
Another successful training week, on the Island Cruising Clubs yacht, Island Spirit out of Salcombe to Fowey and return via Plymouth and the river Yealm.
Now planning the next trip down to the Isles of Scilly.
A second brilliant day sailing off of Salcombe on Island Spirit with all the crew successfully gaining their International Certificate of Confidence (ICC), with plenty of wind and sunny sky’s. You can’t beat Salcombe for Sailing.
