Mike Ellis was obviously listening closely as he took part in the pre-season walkabout with our Fishers Green bailiffs. Two nights into the new season he put their advice to the test. The result was this superb 13.02lbs barbel. Well done on the PB Mike!
New club member Andy Gilbey is off the mark at Moor Mill with this dark old common at 20.02lbs.
Welcome to the club Andy! How are the rest of our new joiners getting on? Send us your catch reports!
Bellows Mill gets more beautiful every time I go. Had the place virtually to myself on Friday evening. Simple float tactics accounted for six tench and dozens of rudd. Get up there - it’s fishing really well.
Fish have started to spawn on Moor Mill’s Island Lake this morning. The bailiff team has taken the decision to close the lake for the next 48 hours. Watch the Moor Mill Facebook page for further updates.
Cracking morning on Moor Mill’s Island Lake for Liam Wigg last week. A 28:12 common was followed by a beautiful mirror of 24lbs, and then the jewel in the crown - the big common named Double Belly at 38lbs exactly. Great angling Liam! The Mill is absolutely on fire!
The match section continues to thrive. Kurt Lucas took the honours at this Tuesday’s match at Frogmore with 60lb08oz of mostly carp. Some great back up weights too.
Why not have a go?
Don’t forget the club does a range of clothing. T-shirts, polos, hoodies and fleeces. Every possible colour. Up to 5XL sizes. If we don’t have the size/colour combo you want in stock, we’ll order in for you. Pop down to see us at the club shop at Riverside Rd, or drop me a msg.
The Island Lake at Moor Mill is on fire! It’s thrown up yet another 30lb+ carp as Aden Martin banks this distinctive mirror at 31 lbs.
Come on chaps, where are all the capture pics from our other venues? Send them in!
We hold regular Tuesday matches at a variety of venues. This week saw us visiting Southend Farm. Simon George took the win, and the top four combined weight was 136lb of just skimmers. Not bad for winter fishing!
Drop us a line if you want to get involved!
Mark Jones, Mark Brown and Dave Aris showing off their ill-gotten gains following last Tuesday's club match at Albans Lakes. Mark Jones took the win with an impressive silvers bag of 22lb14oz.
We run member's matches twice a week - get in touch to get involved.
We were delighted to host around a dozen youngsters this weekend and give them their first taste of angling. Great to see such engagement and so many smiling faces, and they all caught plenty of fish! Thanks to @hertsyl & @MOEFoundation for helping to bring it all together.
Just a quick reminder that you can pick up @SpottedFin bait products, club branded clothing, and some second hand tackle bargains at the club shop at Riverside Road. It’s open this Saturday morning and next Tuesday morning.
This is the bridge over London Road, just before you turn into Riverside Road if you are coming from the A414.
Taken in 1867. Not another house in sight. It’s not changed a bit!!!
Some fabulous roach fishing to be had at Riverside Road at the moment. Nothing complicated; single red maggot on a size 18 fished two feet deep accounted for a hatful of these this afternoon. Give it a try!
For any last minute renewals, our Membership Secretary Dave Woods is down at Riverside Road this afternoon and early evening. Drop in and get renewed on the spot. Payments by cash or cheque only though, I’m afraid.
