After the AG race in Virginia, I'm not freaking out about any scandals, of any kind, about any politican.
The environment can drag anyone over the line.
This is awesome because if you followed Nate during the Biden years, you would know he's no Democrat shill but the quotes and comments are apocalyptic from MAGA lol.
I didn't want to let Paxton's massive win in the Texas runoff pass by without doing some reflection on the status of the Republican Party. So here's an attempt at a scorecard for grading party health.
@Noahpinion I don't think he was even the greatest president named "Roosevelt" in the 20th Century.
To rank him in good faith, I'd probably do this:
1. Eisenhower
2. LBJ
3. Coolidge
4. TR
5. Clinton
6. HW Bush
7. Ford
8. Reagan
9. FDR
I'd say he's 9th. Might put him as high as 6th.
If 2024 was close, not because inflation saved Trump, but because he alone can block an otherwise Democratic political advantage, the GOP is in serious trouble.
I hate this theory because it gives Trump credit I'd like to deny him and because it sounds like a wish cast.
The split in Libertarianism is interesting. Half went full MAGA and Nativist, and the other half are probably voting for Democrats in the midterms.
I think the latter makes more sense than the former, even if it pisses many Libertarians off to say it.
It’s wild that woke, war, and welfare are what pushes libertarians away from Democrats. GOP voting hasn’t made sense for years by that standard and at this point all three feel like a low price to pay to avoid a police state under Trump.
As much as I think Mr.Silver spends too much attention on his beefs with Democrats, I agree only because I think it puts Casey back in the Senate.
However, if Shapiro gets nominated in 2028, do ties to Harris hurt?
Stranger Things S5 isn’t as fun as S4, but I like it so far.
And now it’s getting review-bombed by the absolute worst: anti-woke trolls, far-left clowns, obsessive gay shippers, and miserable Twitter losers who hate everything.
We now must defend it, strongly & blindly.
Stepping down before the midterms is the smart move. Only a small risk in the Senate flipping but retiring now is better than pulling a Ginsburg. Despite a history of more "moderate" picks, assume Trump’s replacement will be Alito-level or worse.
BREAKING: Apple’s chip chief Johny Srouji informed CEO Tim Cook he is seriously considering leaving the company and would likely continue his career elsewhere rather than retire. Apple is urgently pushing to keep him. He remains at least for now. https://t.co/7RcouQZ6Mm
The problem will old Presidents: One can have mental decline without physical symptoms or physical symptoms without mental decline.
I don't know if Trump is dying this year or even this decade. We may never see it coming.
God help us, regardless.
I like how people pretend that if they became Superman overnight, they wouldn’t also become a mass murderer. Yes you would. You probably do the first hundred just by accident.
A man named Barack is still the most popular politician in over fifty years. A significant portion of the population remains unwell because of this fact.
