As you’ll see in the video, a young girl was sitting alone on a bench just a short distance from a hotel housing asylum seekers.

One thing should unite us all: the safety of our children. Every day there seems to be another incident that raises concerns about the safety of our streets, and we cannot afford to become complacent.

I can’t emphasise enough how serious this is. Please don’t just watch videos like this, shake your head and move on. Don’t assume someone else will stand up. Every single one of our children and grandchildren deserves to grow up safe.

This is exactly why Together for the Children exists. Every day we raise awareness, investigate concerns brought to us, share information, and hold live discussions because protecting children must always come first.

26th September is an important day. It is a day to hear directly from survivors. You’ll hear stories that will break your heart. You’ll probably leave with tears in your eyes and a knot in your stomach.

You’ll say, “I can’t imagine that happening.” Let’s do everything we can to keep it that way. Let’s make sure that “I can’t imagine it” never becomes the reality for another child or another family.

Let’s stand together now, so fewer people ever have to call themselves survivors.
