The woman killed by ICE today was a poet. She won the 2020 Academy of American Poets, University & College Poetry Prize at Old Dominion University. This was her bio:
"Renée Macklin is from Colorado Springs, Colorado and is studying Creative Writing at ODU. Her poetry has been published in Metrosphere and Coronado Literary Review, and she currently co-hosts a podcast with her husband, comedian Tim Macklin. When she is not writing, reading, or talking about writing, she has movie marathons and makes messy art with her daughter and two sons."
(People are posting the wrong woman's photo, the red lipstick photo is not her. This is Renee, from her social media accounts.)
#MembersOnlyPalmBeach - they are all terrible people and I can’t stop watching. “Donald” seems to be looming like Oz, which gives the show a very let them eat cake vibe.
@MattBelloni@Lucas_Shaw So, journalists are “pearl-clutching” because they’re worried CBS news is turning into state media? Yes it’s a business but it’s also one that should have an ethical standard, using the word “news” and all. Belloni seems to be showing his trump colors more and more these days.
I could not possibly be filled with more rage after seeing Texas Republicans blame the National Weather Service forecast for the unspeakable tragedy that hit the girls camp.
You were warned this would happen if you fired everyone!
The more I think about #WhiteLotus3 the more I love it. The character arcs, the reflection on spirituality and what it is to be good. The pain of losing everything. Carrie Coon’s ep8 speech. Parker Posey.
