@Colchesterviews@MartinGossCol It’s like the mangled metal and glass shards on Shrub End Road where a bus stop used to be. It was “taken away” but they actually a fair chunk of it behind. Been like it for weeks. It’s a law suit waiting to happen Martin….
@OrevaZSN My dad had 3 jobs to pay the mortgage and bills - basics as you put it. 1 full time job, 1 part time job, and 1 on-call job. He worked 80 hours per week and we only got to see him for a short time at the weekends.
@JeremyBennett@TheGriftReport But you are already in the 30mph zone so no repeater necessary when street lamps present. You miss the point that every time you *change* limit, there *must* be a sign, in every city, town, village, hamlet, countryside. It’s called a “gateway”.
@JeremyBennett@TheGriftReport Nope. The law is that repeaters are not needed when street lights are separated by less than 200 yards. When changing limit, every road has a speed limit sign.
@AmmoniteElectr1@BladeoftheS The centers are being built for AI, for data storage and online services. X uses all three. It certainly isn’t a conspiracy to increase electricity prices!
@JeremyBennett@TheGriftReport When you transition from a higher speed limit to 30mph, there is a sign. On every single road where there’s a speed change, in every single city, town, village and hamlet.
@omgsidewalks Rent has gone up mainly because of government policy - increased taxes, increased bureaucracy, increased regulations. And you know what? Those costs are passed down onto the tenants, just like any other business passes costs down onto customers.
@mrmikeMTL Anyone who has ever employed a team knows full well that someone at some point will have a long term health issue. Lnowing the difference between someone taking the piss and someone with a legitimate problem is important. The best way of knowing is with a medical report or letter
@ElliotKeck Genuinely don’t get why “brown” eggs are worse for the environment than any other egg. What’s the difference between a brown one and white or blue one?
@EleanoraStats@soiledballot69 Pension contributions are before tax. Usually it’s a salary sacrifice scheme (good as it saves on NI and tax) or you can claim back the tax on a tax return. A 10% contributory scheme is pretty extreme. Most are *much* lower.
@DookistAgain@nick_raine Yup, it’s a benefit alright. That’s how it was originally set up and it continues to be run that way to this day. You were very fortunate to not claim benefits. I have claimed once in >25 years of employment, and that was Access to Work so I could keep my job after a disability
