Yesterday, I had the honour of representing the National President of ALGON, Hon. Engr. Bello Lawal, at the 5th Meeting of the Nutrition 774 Strategic Board chaired by His Excellency, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

During the meeting, I highlighted the progress made by Local Government Councils across Nigeria in establishing Food and Nutrition Committees, with 470 LGAs already complying with the Board's directive. I also raised concerns over the reported abuse of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), emphasizing the need for intensified public awareness and community sensitisation to safeguard interventions aimed at combating child malnutrition.

Nutrition remains a critical pillar of national development. We remain committed to working with the Federal Government, state governments, development partners, and all stakeholders to ensure healthier communities and better outcomes for our children and future generations.
