#1 Skof 🌼
Having secured a Michelin star in 2025 and retained it for 2026, Skof is celebrated for its precise Modern British menus, earning ‘Restaurant of the Year’ honours for its sophisticated yet accessible dining experience.
#4 Erst 🫛
This small plates restaurant in Ancoats is for serious foodies so don’t come looking for mac n cheese balls. Plenty of other places can satisfy that filthy craving for you. The menu at Erst changes frequently depending on what’s good and in season, and the plates are inventive and often surprising.
#10 Where the Light Gets In 🍃
With no menu and esoteric wines, Where the Light Gets In doesn’t adhere to the typical fine-dining formula. But it’s been a success for Stockport, thanks to chef-patron Sam Buckley’s belief in doing things his own way.

I Le Viet Social is one of the most authentic Vietnamese restaurants I’ve found in years.
I first visited six weeks ago and their pho absolutely knocked me out.
Liverpool locals: if you haven’t been, sort that out.
Visitors: put this on your must-eat list.
Truly family-run, brilliantly welcoming, and serving exceptional food.

Cocktails at @Barnaclelpool just hit different 🍸 ✨
Visit Wednesday to Friday, 4PM–7PM for 2-4-1 cocktails in one of Liverpool’s most exciting dining spots 🥂
Sip on signature serves like the Indigo Starboard - a gin-based delight topped with an impressive lavender foam, SOS - a fruity little number using Bacardi Carta Blanca, strawberry & kiwi with fresh lime, and the Mendoza Star - probably the best espresso martini you’ll ever have ☕️
Beautiful drinks, stunning surroundings, and serious flavour in the heart of Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter.

Jack’s Burgers
Colne Market Hall in Lancashire has been completely transformed and turned into a seriously modern food emporium. Six different kitchens are serving everything from Greek and Japanese food to New York-style pizza and cosmo burgers.
I started with Jack’s. Well, I say started… I ended up having two burgers because, as you know, I’m a right fat bastard. And what burgers they were.
These aren’t smash burgers, by the way. Jack’s actually sources its own beef, has it freshly minced by the butcher, and then mixes it into the patties using its own blend of seasonings and additions in their own kitchen. The result?really stands out in terms of flavour, moisture, texture, mouthfeel and overall gorgeousness.
I didn’t get chance to try the rest of the food lichens this time because I was too busy demolishing those, but I’ll definitely be back. Listen to me. Love me or hate me you’ll thank me for trying one of these burgers 🍔😂
