As a concerned mother and resident of NVan, I want to know what @JonathanWNV is doing to fight the appalling separation of migrant children from parents in USA. Canadians are disgusted-we need our elected officials to help us make a difference.
It’s been a week since submitting my formal complaint, and it’s still radio silence from @catsa_gc and @yvrairport. The incident itself was horrifying, but this inaction is indefensible!
It’s hard, as a mom, to go away for work and pump breast milk the whole time so you can bring back food and keep nursing. It’s degrading when @yvrairport makes you pump outside security in order to demonstrate that you are nursing, so that you can bring an ice pack to store milk.
@Sunny_D604 @yvrairport@catsa_gc If without baby, breasts needs to be pumped every few hr or gradually stop producing milk. I had ice pack + pump so milk I would pump while traveling would not spoil. This is the rigamarole that working, breastfeeding moms go through to store milk and feed babes the good stuff.
@Sunny_D604 @yvrairport@catsa_gc One require ice packs to keep breast milk safe and cool. After pleading my case, security said they would allow me to bring my ice pack through if I could show them my expressed milk. Only way to show it is to pump it. Just trying to stop a too-common, degrading experience.
I never ever tweet, but I wanted to thank @kennyhotz. Thanks for sticking up for a nursing and working mom who was made to demonstrate a bodily function at @yvrairport security in order to store her breast milk. Much appreciated!
@whitton1@DreamBabySafety@DreamBabySafety I am also getting the runaround for my babygate that arrived broken. Wonder if they care if my child falls down the stairs...
@DreamBabySafety So disappointed with my experience. We bought an Adaptagate, which arrived broken, so we can't protect our newly-crawling infant from our staircase. I called customer service at least four times, and only ever got a voicemail with no one returning my messages.
