Once you have been trained in basic life support, it's important to maintain your skills. Your BLS skills should be refreshed at least once a year, if not more.

This is a prime example why you do not sit within your vehicle if you break down on the motorway. Tonight we have attended an RTC on the M6 whereby there were no injuries. Should the occupants have been sitting within the vehicle it would have been a very different story.

Not everyone in our Control Rooms work to get ambulances to patients, others explore options that don't require an ambulance and are more suitable for their needs.

Like Saika, from the Clinical Validation Team in our Brierley Hill Control Room.

It's #InternationalControlRoomWeek! 🎧💚🚑

From dispatchers to nurses and many more, we know just how hard every single person across our two Control Rooms in Stafford and Brierley Hill works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Thank you!

There’s an easier way to get the urgent care you need If you're unsure of where to get the right care, use NHS 111 online at https://t.co/5x3j1Nsh51.

In a life threatening emergency, call 9️⃣9️⃣9️⃣

[West Midlands Ambulance Service #HelpUsHelpYou @OFFICIALWMAS]

A common misconception is that you have to be trained to use a defib... this is ❌

The defib will instruct you, out loud, how to use it and our call assessors will be on the end of that 999 call to provide support until the 🚑 gets there! #RestartAHeartWeek.

Did you learn CPR at one of the #RestartAHeart day events across the UK yesterday? You now register as ResusReady!

61% of people say they aren’t confident enough to use a defibrillator, yet early CPR and defibrillation can significantly increase survival rates!

A defib is designed to be used by the public, watch Defib Dani to learn more ⬇️ #RestartAHeart #WorldRestartAHeart
