They really dont need to. We left on the 8pm train Fri and they added an additional service for weekend.
Now most dont want to get to NYC at midnight&some may still need to get to NJ or Westchester after but there are plenty of trains… people are just choosing to flee Wyndham
Truly the only whiff of the U.S. Open at Shinnecock is just how early fans have to leave to catch the last train back to the city. They are just POURING for the exits right now and the leaders are on Hole 6.
@ThorbjornOleZyn@TaylorTwellman@Maxhoma If you listen to whole interview he owns that he has done this and is taking accountability. But I forget we are an aggragated society.
@minevian@dougiedonnelly Twitter didn’t exist in 91 we have no clue what American fans would have said. I’ve said envelope rule is dumb for years. If it had an impact in a U.S. win I would personally say the same thing. Bad rule, super outdated, easy solutions moving forward.
@minevian@dougiedonnelly No one is asking for the result to change in any past year just for rule to change moving forward. It’s a bad rule. Happens all the time in sports and people update rules to make more sense.
@HoviTracker Yeah we know. It’s still a stupid rule. It was stupid then when we won and it’s stupid now.
“Tradition” or “because we’ve always done it that way” are stupid reasons for doing something.
Bring alternates, lose the point (like Solheim does btw), come up with a solution
Hey @NoLayingUp - thoughts on Morikawa and English being -5.8 SG in foursomes over two days. Seemed impossible to predict this considering data told us they were the worst possible pairing.
#Sticktotheplan
Since 1985 Ryder Cup records (assuming an L this year which is inevitable)
Overall:
Euro: 14-6
US: 6-14
In Europe:
Euro: 9-1
US: 1-9
In US:
Euro: 5-5
US: 5-5
Utter domination by Europe in this comp. Maybe a country vs a continent isn’t the best matchup?!?
