Omg! An open division team just went to a mainly D2-D4 tournament, went undefeated in pool play against a D3 school and a team that didn't make the playoffs last year, won the championship against a D1 school; let's write about it and blow it up.๐คฆโโ๏ธ #samestory#differentnarratives
@latsondheimer The real problem is not small schools getting into D1. It's the fact that big schools are getting into D4/D5. Also, way too many schools make playoffs.
@latsondheimer Schools invest way too much time and money on student athletes. If this goes thru say bye bye to sports programs for a lot of schools. West Valley League needs to worry about how to keep their players from transferring to these poaching private schools, not clubs or Recโs.
@SFVHoopsTalkSGV This is whatโs going to keep happening with the way CIF is messing with the rankings. Theoretically a program can play just their league loose 2 games, finish 2nd-3rd and still make playoffs. No need to play non league or tournaments.
@pollonpreps Both teams didnโt belong in playoffs. 2-20 (8-18) gets you to host playoff games?
San Fernando in D4?
Sylmar in D2 when they ran thru everyone in their league plus 30 points the second time around? stronger schedule than most D1,s.
CIF taking care of the โbig schoolsโ. Period!
Monroe Hs Girls is the tru definition of how messed up that CIF system is. They go 0-13 and make playoffs last year.
This year they win first game in 5 years and they get to host a playoff game??
We donโt stand a chance. @pollonpreps@latsondheimer @SFVHoopsTalkSGV
For years we have known CIF shows no love to the smaller charter schools and this proves it. D1 for us really? Your math ainโt mathing yโall gotta figure this out. Yโall did it to my volleyball program first now my basketball program. Nothing says D1 in our schedule. Nothing.
Letโs Goooooo!!!!
Undefeated!!!!
Winter North Valley League Champions!
Boys basketball finishing 34-0 the last 4 years.
Playoffs schedule will be out Saturday for all sports.
Stay tuned.

High school volleyball teams will now be permitted to designate up to two libero players during each set, creating additional participation opportunities without needing to use a substitution. Effective next season.
