When teaching the Linebacker Scrape…
I used to say “cross over the feet”.
Now I say, “turn the hips, keep the shoulders square”.
I’m finding it’s a better cue.
Florida Gators LB Drill!🚨🚨🚨
- Lateral bag step overs (2 feet in, 1 foot out)
- Violent hands
- Great arm extension and separation
- Turn the blocker by really attacking his outside shoulder
- Shed, arm over
- Finish in a good tackling stance

STUTTER LAB WORK!!!🚨🚨🚨
A deadly rush move for blitzing LBs—especially when you get matched on a RB.
RBs don’t have the patience, base, or hand usage of an OL. They’re reactive. They lunge.
That’s what the stutter is for.
Make them guess. Force them to commit. Then take what they give you.
✔️ Sell it with head and shoulders
✔️ Attack their impatience
✔️ Be able to win inside, outside, or convert to bull
Block Destruction is very important for LB’s Here are four keys you must focus on:
- Shooting your hips
- Play with extension
- Quick and Violent Hands
- Getting off block swiftly
