Coaching Tip: There are 2 schools of thought when it comes to teaching hand-eye coordination for receivers. Some coach them to eye the tip or apex of the ball, while others teach to eye the white stripe on the top of the ball. Find the one that works best for your players.
Coaching Tip: For a fade route on a ball that will be in front of them coach receivers to catch the ball over their outside eye, as once the ball gets outside that eye the receiver becomes limited by his inside arm.
@coachwes_23 Good point Coach Wes, I’ve heard coaches say that juco is like playing D2 but I don’t think that factors in the Power 4/G5/FCS talent at that level that either develops late or goes there due to grades or under recruitment.
Coaching Tip: A former G5 head coach once did a study on fumbles in the NFL. He found that more fumbles occurred on plays where the ball carrier switched hands than on plays where the ball carrier kept the ball in the same hand for the full duration of the play.
Coaching Tip: Some WR coaches teach the “U” catch technique instead of the diamond, as forming a U gives a receiver more strength and cushion with their biceps and forearms and is a more natural position than forming a diamond. P.J. Fleck in particular teaches the U concept.
Coaching tip: For the corner route on a smash concept, coach receivers to take a high angle at the top of the route so that the QB can throw them open underneath or make the corner in cover 3 or 4 drop deeper and open up the hitch.
Coaching Tip: On a dig route, coach receivers to angle slightly downhill at the very end of the route, as doing so makes it harder for a one-high safety to jump the route.
@PratikxPatel@presleep_ There was a recent Brazil study that came out that linked artificial sweeteners to memory loss. Is that anything to be concerned about in your opinion?
@BreidenFehoko Mr. Fehoko I recently came across your content and am a big fan. My question to you is the following: In terms of NFL DL indy drills, would you say that bag agility or hand strike/placement drills are emphasized more? Thank you for your time.
