@DublinGuardians No head coach appointment yet? Surely Malan, who stepped down as HC from Ireland, would be the perfect fit for this role? He understands both high-performance systems and Irish Cricket? Shiuld be a no-brainer…
@CricketEurope Have to admit, this is the biggest load of rubbish I have read lately! Have to ask yourself the question Barry, you want someone to engage with the media and play shocking cricket (Baz), or someone who don’t care about media attention & actually invest in players and performance!
@AzeemRafiq30 Flower won’t be interested.
England needs structure, and I don’t think there is a better man currently available than Heinrich Malan to build this!
@Cricket_TS The reason it doesn’t make sense, is that McCullum haven’t done the hard yards as a coach. He just floats around and tries to make it theatrical. Not equipped to understand what a proper coach would….
@rs_3702 Big difference between talking a good game and actually capable of delivering!! Baz prime example. Morgan has NO coaching experience! I would suggest he stays in his lane!! Leave it for proper coaches to come and resolve the issues!!
@nathanrjohns Well written Nathan. I think everyone wants to know what CI was thinking to let him go? Team was clearly heading in the right direction. With the limited cricket they play, to even compete against India would have been remarkable. I smell issues at the top. ECB version 2?
@PetefromHayNSW@darren_lehmann@WG_RumblePants@jimmaxcricket You are correct that Hussey was able to do it as a player! But England needs a proper coach, not an ex-player telling guys what to do! You need someone who can teach the lads. Not a good suggestion I am afraid
@etplofficial Is there a specific reason why I don’t see any Ireland Coaching staff at any team?? Would have thought, based on the weekends results, they would be highly sought after?? But then I see notifications of Kuhn getting a gig?? How does that work??
@WG_RumblePants Apart from Flower, Shastri, Kirsten and Langer, none of the names actually have a track record to back why they should be considered. Purely because of their name as former player? Look how that played out with Baz! Get coaches with a track record, not a name!!
@t20tracker I guess I should not be surprised to see Heino Kuhn and Stephan Myburgh’s names listed, as their mate is the franchise owner!! Jobs for pals!!
@cricket_badger I like your proposal.
Agree to do away with appointing mates into assistant roles!! Pick coaches who can improve players!! As we have seem someone like Heinrich Malan who recently stepped down from Ireland. Creates a system that improves the system and players alike!
@cricinfo He has been saying the same for the last 4 years. You are out of your depth. You talk a massive game, however international coaches are judged by results!! Which is seriously lacking I am afraid!!
@JohnKennyMedia@RTEsport Pity!! Really feel he over achieved with the system and resources to his disposal!! Excellent coach!! Any cricketing board should rush to get this man on their payroll!!!
