Meet your newest class of Texas Highway Patrol Troopers!
In just a few hours, Recruit Class C-2025 will officially take the oath from Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Colonel Freeman F. Martin and join the ranks of the Texas Highway Patrol. You can watch the livestream on the DPS YouTube page here: https://t.co/pW9SXfFxav.
Members of Recruit Class C-2025 recently competed against each other in a Top PT Competition, pushing themselves to the limit across multiple fitness categories, including the SkiErg and rowing machine. Top performers in this competition will be honored at graduation for their outstanding achievement.
Recruit Class 2025 didn’t just meet the standard during this competition – they set it. Their performance reflects the discipline and grit required to wear the uniform and serve the people of Texas. Now, with just 5 weeks to go, these men and women are one step closer to crossing the DPS Training Academy graduation stage, ready to protect and serve Texas.
The Mayde Creek girls finished 16th in Texas!
Not bad for a team that started the year just hoping to find five runners.
Freshman Josselyn Reyes, sophomore Sophia Ilagan, and freshman Valerie Medrano led the way — all three ran like champs.
We’re young. We’re hungry.
And we’ll be back next year looking to make it three straight trips to State.
Couldn’t be prouder of this crew.
This morning our school threw a parade for six girls who refused to give up.
Claudia. Sophie. Josselyn. Valerie. Brandi. Jamie.
Back in August, we were just trying to find five who could finish a 5K.
There were highs. There were lows.
Sometimes both in the same week.
But they kept showing up.
They kept believing.
And little by little, everything clicked.
Now we’re headed to State — not because it was easy,
but because these girls never stopped fighting for each other.
Couldn’t be prouder to coach them.
Meet Recruit School C-2025’s Class Officers.
This morning, Class C-2025 officially selected their class officers — a select group of Recruits who will serve as leaders and set the standards for excellence among their peers.
These individuals have already displayed integrity and leadership and shown they have what it takes to help C-2025 forge their legacy at the DPS Academy.

Yesterday, these girls extended our Regional streak to 4 years.
But this one feels different.
We don’t have a true #1 runner this year.
Four different girls have finished first for us.
So we leaned into what we do have—TEAM.
We built a plan: Claudia, Josselyn, Valerie & Sophia would run as a pack, rotating every 90 seconds.
Jamie & Brandi would hunt jerseys and steal points.
They went 14, 15, 16, 18, 23.
One of the fastest districts in Texas—
and they did it together.
No superstars. Just six girls who refused to run alone. 💚
Next stop → Regionals.
Goal → State.
Just as we wrapped Class B-2025’s time at the @TxDPS Academy, our next group of Recruits — Class C-2025 — began their journeys to becoming DPS Troopers. It all started with their PT orientation, and this is only just the beginning.
For the next seven months, these men and women will train hard. They will put in the work to prepare them for the duties of a Trooper. They will have to prove that they have the skill and determination to make it — and we can’t wait to watch as they rise to the challenges before them.

Coming into the season, Sophie, Josselyn, and Valerie we’re supposed to be our 4-5-6.
Then life happened—we lost our upperclassmen, and suddenly it was on them. One sophomore, two freshmen… now leading our varsity.
For the 2nd meet in a row, all three medaled. 🏅🏅🏅
Huge credit to Katy ISD for adding Jr High XC. All three got their start at Cardiff JH, and that foundation prepared them to step up when the moment came.
They weren’t expected to lead—but they are.
First meet together.
5 girls — the bare minimum to score.
A sophomore captain.
Two freshmen.
A sophomore.
A junior.
They’ve already stepped into leadership, pushing each other to be more.
Today they fought for 4th place and brought home 3 medals:
🥇 Sophia Ilagan
🥇 Valerie Medrano
🥇 Josselyn Reyes
Small roster. Big dreams.
The Creek’s next chapter starts here.
Congratulations to our athletes on their performances from their district track meet. Our lady colts ended their track season breaking 7 CJH School Records! @CardiffColts@CJHGirlsAth
