@Boston_Diehards that won't fix it. We need forwards to rest JT, and we need some youth to rotate with Timelord. Al wasn't good enough. Grant Williams wasn't good enough, and our PG play needs to set the tone. Keep JB and JT give Joe a coaching staff again, set him up for success. Next year green
@Boston_Diehards The offense can't run through JB/JT as the play starter. That's what we got PG's Smart and Brogdon for. They didnโt start the O tonight. It was all about adding a better PG last off-season, and we still made the same mistake this post season.
@Boston_Diehards I'm gonna say it we need to replace Al tha JB and need to decide what we are doing with Grant Williams. The guard rotations are strong. The players are good, but our bigs are aging, injured, or clearly not good enough to use throughout the playoffs. Throw away JB if you want, but
@WorldWideWob Everything was wrong about tonight. The offense staggered, and the defense was stretched. We had no adjustments that consistently worked. I don't know if that is because the players just didn't execute or Joe didn't know, both, but that was exhausting to be a part of. We'll see.
@celticsblog No, this team's core is strong and irreplaceable. If the Celtics want to add veterans of a high caliber, it has to be done by replacing current veterans. JB and JT are hard to replace. Mazzulla is where we need to take a hard look. Lack of adaptability cost us, not player talent.
@coach_swalwell_ Drop the 10 into a flat three with the 8's sitting in front of the 6. Ball side 8 and full back pressure to stop forward progress. This leaves 3 midfielders still to cover the middle of the field. You could even drop a 9 in to mark the opposition 6.
@coach_swalwell_ You could do the same in other formations, I guess the real benefit of switching formations from a developmental POV is to connect tactical concepts between differing formations/positions so that kids feel more confident regardless of what formation they are playing. Thoughts?
@coach_swalwell_ The formation alone may not be the focus for a players understanding of new roles and responsibilities within a team shape. You could coach a 4-3-3 with different tactical responsibilities for each position, ex. Inverted LB/RB and RF/LF, 6-8-10 midfield vs 6-6-10, false 9 etc.

@StoolGreenie No doubt, these are thoughts that the Celtics should be having! A reliever for JB and JT, and if Neismith takes a stride forward we have a wing rotation! Smart White and Pritchard can handle PG rotations, then you got Rob, AL and Grant as bigs. The team can't be more complete!๐
@KeithSmithNBA What about the Celtics Transition defense tonight? When we miss shots we have been out hustled down the court, guys have been late getting back on defense. I bet the Transition points differential is decent. The Warriors haven't been getting beat down the court tonight
@Marc_DAmico My optimism is struggling right now, I am struggling to understand why the offense is at an all time low, we need to see their heart shine through this half ๐
@SplashNCrash@KeithSmithNBA That's very true, he is the youngest guy on this team too, I still believe in him but if he can be moved for someone who fills the same role and is doing better than him that's above worth making mid-season. Hopefully he Studies someone like Mikal Bridges, that's his mold ๐ค
@tmud91087@KeithSmithNBA TJ Warren if his foot is healthy is an interesting free agent. He could be had cheap too since he hasn't played since 2020. This is all based on his health of course because he was a great wing when healthy
