Iowa State Athletics Director Jamie Pollard confirms at press conference ISU will add the sport of women’s wrestling in 2027-2028 school year. Wrestling replaces gymnastics as Iowa State’s 18th varsity sport.

Kevin Dresser will become director of men’s and women’s wrestling.

Brent Metcalf is Iowa State’s new head men’s wrestling coach.
