🗂️ I have four tabs in an Excel Spreadsheet labeled:
• Inner Circle
• Outer Circle
• 3rd Layer
• Coaching Acquaintances
🔴 Inner Circle is the shortest list with people I’ve worked directly with, players I’ve coached that are now in coaching and my best friends in the business. I trust these people completely and know they would speak highly of me behind closed doors.
⭕️ Outer Circle is the next shortest list that includes some people I’ve worked with on a more limited basis, friends in the coaching world that I’ve built some relationship with and people that when I see on the road I could have an extensive conversation with. These people I have a high respect level for and I feel that if someone asked them about me they would say that we know each other to some degree.
3️⃣ Third Layer is the longest list filled with coaches that I’ve met over the years in a ton of different capacities that I need to do a better job fostering those relationships to get them in one of the first two tabs.
🤝 Coaching Acquaintances are people that I have a limited relationship with. Maybe I did a zoom call with them or have connected briefly with them while recruiting etc.
📋 Next to each name listed I have their school, what level, their title and their mailing address. Then beside that I track my touchpoints with them… phone calls, in-person interaction, zoom calls, handwritten letters etc.
‼️ Each offseason it resets! If I have minimal contact with someone they move down a layer. If I have a ton of contact with someone then they move up a layer.
🗣️ It takes time and effort to track, but worth it in the long game!
@JoshiJugernaut I miss the different characters & story telling. Everyone looks the same now & same people wrestle same people. Plus, way too many pay per views.
Also, I am a FlingGolfer.
BREAKING: The proposal for a 35-second shot clock in Indiana high school basketball failed to pass.
IHSAA commissioner Paul Neidig shares with WISH-TV his thoughts on the decision:
"Tradition certainly carries a lot here in Indiana. Maybe more than other states."
