Rashaun Agee (Texas A&M) was one of three NCAA players this season to post: USG>25%, OREB>10%, DREB>20%, A/TO>1, TOV<15%, BLK>1%, and STL>2%.
The others? Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson.
I'm not convinced Agee is an NBA player at all. He's also smaller, less athletic, and turns *26* in November - but I'd at least want to get him in the gym for a predraft workout.
Some rough notes:
- Measured at 6-6¾ in shoes with a 7-1½ wingspan this month, per @thecenterhub_bb live from PIT.
- Effectively a non-shooter, but is there a sliver of hope? Basically wasn’t taking any threes a couple of seasons ago. Took a career-high 87 this season.
But then again, he'll be 26 soon, so how much patience or belief can you have?
- Career 69 FT% (391/567) in the NCAA is tough for a 6-7 player ... though last two seasons are up to a more passable 74.7 FT% (204/273).
- Has had to defend on the inside a lot because USC and Texas A&M haven’t really had centers. Can he be ok on the perimeter? Not sure. Can look heavy-footed laterally and then not *that* explosive vertically (21 dunks in 34 games).
- Functionally strong. Listed at 231 pounds. Moves some NCAA centers. But ultimately sized like a wing and plays more like a bruising big. Not an easy fit.
- Looooong road up to this point. Redshirted first college season (2019-20!) at New Mexico St, then played just one game in his second year, went the JUCO route at Casper College in Wyoming, then back to NCAA for two seasons at Bowling Green, one at USC, now this one at Texas A&M...
— NOTE: 35.3 3P% (36/102) and 63.7 FT% (114/179) at Casper.
- Will probably be a very hard path again *if* he ever makes the NBA. Uphill climb. Would be "easier" if he was even just a couple years younger.
If you're an NBA org, worth thinking about getting him into your G League system, though. Top 100 board name.
