Not disagreeing with your post at all. But I wonder how much was invested into actual development versus just paying to play. Good training and development can sometimes provide a bigger return than another travel season.
I talked a dad who told me he spent $10k a year on travel baseball between tourneys, travel, and gear for his son. He got a partial scholarship to D-2 school. If he had put the $10k in a mutual fund each year, he would have had about $190,000. The scholarship was $5k a year.
Michael Beasley’s pain is real. You can see it. He’s been a beast at every level high school, college, league. Yet people reduce it to “he needs accountability.” Reality is, not everyone succeeds with the same support system. Some guys need more and that’s okay.
An underrated part of high school recruiting is building an actual relationship between the high school coaches. I tried making connections with the coaches in my area so much so that there were years they had no players for us but I’d stop by just to chop it up with some of em.
@fleeezeee@Coach_Pickett4 Exactly what I said! Reply once triggers a en expectation to reply to all going forward which would love to do but there’s only so many hours in a day.
Never understood media and people. They want it one way and the other way. Before it was shut up and dribble and now they want Azzi talking about her personal life. Yes it could carry over to the game but she’s never talked about it before so why should she now.
@Coach_Pickett4 Not saying that not responding is the move, but the volume of messages is unreal when you take into account all the coach has to do during the day on campus. I appreciated the full prospect sheet vs sending individual players.
I understand baseball is different and can draft anybody they want.
But how is this different than baseball enough to be a rule? I see this getting challenged.
I Cabinet approved it today.
3 pre-enrollment rule changes. Effective 2026-27.
1. Athletes can now sign with agents for all purposes, not just NIL. Pre-enrollment and on-campus.
2. Prospects who opt into and stay in an opt-in pro draft (NBA, NFL) lose NCAA eligibility. Baseball and men's ice hockey are not affected because those drafts do not require opt-in.
3. Athletes can accept prize money in their sport without eligibility hits.
Agent selection just became one of the most important decisions a high school athlete will make. Certification, fee structure, conflicts, and scope of representation all matter.
Expect antitrust attention on the draft restriction.

@kaleb_gsx If you specifically ask for something then I usually sent a response back as long as it wasn’t coach I got a dawg.
Tell me who the dawg is in the initial email lol.
I equate that one to where I gotta probe to someone texting you “I got a question”
Just ask it lol
@kaleb_gsx Email was great to me from coaches. If you have a nice excel prospect sheet those are fantastic. Especially if it’s arranged and easy to import into arms even better. Some coaches just send that so a response wasn’t usually warranted.
@CoachMcCannJSG The film is never the same. The attitudes, confidence, comfortability, coaching, leadership ability, response to coaching, etc is never the same. Something always separates one from another.
Neither until I see film…impossible question without film. And even then might be camp after to actually work with them and see how they are when I get to coach them myself and see how they move, carry themselves, follow direction, as a leader, confidence, comfort on the field.
So who are you taking as a coach and WHY!
You have 2 athletes with the “same” accolades, same comp, same eye candy etc they are very similar
Kid A
40 time is 4.41- lacks IQ, good footwork, just makes plays some how because of the system they have him in on the HS level, not good on the board with you on a visit.
Kid B
40 time is 4.56- great football IQ, puts guys in right place to make plays while making plays, good footwork, decent to good on the board with you.

Fundraising, community and tradition can buy facilities, equipment, scouting resources.
Experienced coaches doesn’t equal winning coaches.

You only get 15 points to build a state championship program…
Most coaches will waste points on the wrong things.
