As a high school coach, I was always expected to apply generic leadership books to my program. I didn't have much that was explicitly for the high school level coach, so I wanted to do something about it.

IF I coach again… A thought that has been in my mind for the culture I’d want to create is…
Be the ant
I know it sounds strange. But hear me out.
Ants carry more than what seems possible (mental and physical fortitude)
Ants default to working as a colony for the greater good (teamwork and selflessness)
Ants will naturally work around obstacles (growth mindset)
Maybe the title of my next book.
This was the biggest playoff game of my life. As a nervous person I was expecting to be a wreck. I thought the pregame nerves would dominate my brain per usual.
But an unexplainable calm came over me. So much so that I didn’t even stand up during warmups.
This picture was sent to me after the game asking what I was thinking.
My response: “I was just in awe of the people in the bleachers.”
All these people took a break from their lives to come watch us play a game. They bought apparel. They showed up two hours before tipoff. The squeezed into the bleachers as tightly as possible.
That’s all I could think about… “How cool is this that this many people are finding joy in our team playing a game.”
The point of this is rather simple: Enjoy the little things. Look around. Take it all in.
The quote going through my mind as I was preparing my team for deep playoffs games… “Why climb the mountain if you’re not going to enjoy the view?”
With my book release coming up in just a week, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has provided me with a platform to discuss my book and workshops.
Regardless of book sales, I appreciate the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations on these amazing shows. Each discussion has left me with greater insight and encouragement.
If you know of any podcasts looking for high level guests, I’d love the connection. I hope it’s safe to say there’s proof on concept here haha.
For the Bucks if these are the center pieces for Giannis trades…
Paolo Banchero
Tyler Herro
Chet Holmgren
Alperen Sengun
It’s a no brainer that Paolo is the best option. He’s the only one that has potential to carry a team as the #1 option.
Something that hasn’t been discussed in a minute.
Has a draft class ever looked better in year 1 than the 2025 class?
Flagg is a bonafide star.
Harper is playing major impactful minutes for a finals bound team.
Edgecombe helped save a Philly season and was huge in knocking off Boston.
Knueppel led the league in 3s made.
More guys had great seasons that would’ve been first team rookies in most seasons.
Sports media gets overly hyperbolic too often. But this one might just be worthy of the reaction.
