Days 1-7: pick 3 schools you'd commit to tomorrow if they offered.

Days 8-14: find the position coach's direct email at each one.

Days 15-21: send a 90-second film clip with one sentence about why that school.

Days 22-28: call. Don't text.

Answer these 5 questions before any camp this summer: personal invite, film reviewed, phone call done, on the board, know what they need to offer you. All five yes = real shot at an offer.

300 kids at camp. Only 10 meet one on one with a coach after. Those are the ones who get offered.

Ask 3 questions: what to improve, where you stand, and what you need to earn the offer.

Another reminder this year to kids going to camps:

Seeing some kids "camp schedule" list looking like a grocery list of 15 items. Schools are just taking your money.

If you are a high school player right now looking to do camps:

DO NOT GO TO 10 camps. Go to 3-4 camps and space them out and choose schools that have shown you the most interest at this point.

Keep the main thing...the MAIN THING! Be with your team in the summer. Prepare for a great junior or senior year. PUT IT ON TAPE!!

Pick 1 at the very most 2 mega camps
Pick 1 "Prove you can play there" camp.
Pick 1 " School has shown you the most interest.

Pet peeve after offering a kid a scholarship…

Comment from Current Adult in their Life: “Congrats! First of many! Can’t wait to see the many more offers to come!”

Me: “How about I withdraw my offer & leave y’all to go collect 100 more offers to feel validated? 🤣”

Moral of the story — You need the ONE right offer to have a successful college career, not 100 offers to get likes online.

Don’t push kids to collect a million offers just to have them. You want the RIGHT offer to go have a successful, fulfilling career!
