We have a problem.
Somewhere along the line, “Playing multiple sports is good!” turned into, “you have to play all of your sports simultaneously year round!”
We’ve lost the plot. Kids cannot play a baseball, basketball, and football season all at the same time.
I will not lower the standard for your son. I will not play players who do not do what they have been coached to do. It will not get easier, your son will get tougher. & Yes i do have favorites, my favorites are the players who do what I ask them to do. #EFFORT
I’m all for improving high school 🏀, but perhaps the first thing we need to do is get back to the heart and purpose of athletics for the 98–99% that won’t play past graduation. Grassroots athletics needs an awakening; it has completely lost its way. 🤷🏻♂️
After two decades, Pat Lewis is retiring as Shelby's athletic director. The success the Whippets have enjoyed under Lewis has been incredible nearly 90 league championships across all sports! Congrats on a great career!

Jonh Starks DESTROYS Lebron in the GOAT Debate vs Jordan 🔥🔥
"Michael was just different, his mentality, his will to overcome anything out there on the court.Michael made his teammates better because he grew them, he grew Scottie, he grew Horace Grant, he grew BJ Armstrong.Lebron really didn't grow anybody, he joined talent"

Forget “Enter the Sandman” or Timmy Trumpet.
The coolest closer entrance in MLB history is “The Rubberband Man” by The Spinners for #Pittsburgh#Pirates closer Kent Tekulve. 😎

"Today everybody wants to talk about their rights and their privileges.
50 years ago, people talked about their obligation and responsibility.
You have obligations to other people.
If you want to fail, you have the right to fail.
You do not have the right to cause other people to fail because you do not do everything to the very best of your ability."
Shane Battier shares a must-listen on what it really means to be a champion, how to be a great teammate, and how to make an impact.
"The sign says, 'Champions are made when no one is looking.' I sorta laugh at that sign because there is no better sign to sum up my career than that. I lived that literally."
Here's why:
"My last few years in the NBA, I was first or last, depending on how you look at it - in a stat called time per possession...I was the NBA's version of hot potato."
Then he did the math:
"I found out that 98% of the time I was on the court, I didn't touch the ball. Only 2% of the time I actually physically touched it."
"Most people watch the player with the ball or guarding the ball. So literally, when I say 'champions are made when no one's watching' - no one is watching me for 98% of the time."
"But yet I was an integral part of my team. I was an integral piece in my coach's sweat when I didn't play."
How did he do it?
"I always looked at ways to impact the game. Boxing out. Taking charges. Sexy plays like running back on defense. All of these made up my 98% of time spent away from the ball."
98% invisible, but 100% essential.
You don't have to score to make an impact on the game.
The best teammates own their role. They are willing to put the team first over individual glory.

When you’re negotiating with a man like Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), you don’t send just anyone. You send the one man volatile enough, profane enough, and aggressively caffeinated enough to get it done….You send super‑agent Les Grossman (Tom Cruise).
For all of you “athletes” running away from … or trying to hide in the weight room… this is a pic of the GOAT - Michael Jordan. LIFTING … all season long and YES, regularly on NBA GAME DAYS.
Note: Read what MJ’s trainer said in pic below. Note: pic and story Credit IB Network and Tim Grover
KEY!!! **** Lifting helps wake-up and ignite your nervous system to be ready to compete! You don’t have to go ballistic (no maxing out in-season), but you should get your body ready to perform at an elite level!!!! … while maintaining strength that you will critically need throughout the entire season to be at your best.
Of course continue to execute flexibility routines, eat healthy, hydrate, and put your phones away at night and sleep. 8 plus hours if possible.
