To the men of Washington State Baseball,
The campaign before you has already been a victorious one. A Mountain West Championship now flies proudly over Pullman, earned through grit, resolve, and the brotherhood forged over a long season upon the Palouse. Cougar Nation stands proud of what you have accomplished.
Now the road leads south into hostile territory, where Oregon hosts this regional alongside Oregon State and Yale. Let the Ducks chirp and posture beneath their polished banners. Let the Beavers cling to memories of former glory. The Cougars do not travel to Eugene merely to participate — you march there to compete, to battle, and to remind the baseball world that Washington State still carries the spirit of Buck Bailey, Bobo Brayton, Ron Sey, John Olerud, Aaron Sele, Scott Hatteberg, and all who have worn the colors on the battlefield.
Play fearless. Play for one another. Play for every Coug who ever wore the crimson and gray. The nation may see an underdog. We see men fully capable of conquering this field and advancing the flag of Washington State deeper into June.
Carry yourselves with pride, because you represent more than a team — you represent every early morning workout, every doubter silenced, and every young Coug dreaming of wearing this uniform one day. Great moments belong to those bold enough to seize them. Step onto that field with confidence in your brothers beside you and belief in the work that brought you here. Leave no inning wasted, no opportunity untouched, and no question about the heart of Washington State Baseball.
Now go raise hell in Eugene.
Proudly,
— General Kirby Moore
Excellent Op-Ed in the Seattle Times today penned by 2 WSU Regents, Marty Dickinson and Howard Wright. Many thx to ALL our Regents particularly the leadership from @WSU_Cougar_Pres!! #GoCougs
@DerekKXLY I have seen that interview plus some other that show where new members of the PAC 12 are at. I agree with you. Maybe a layered approach, establish football then focus on hoops?
