Recruits:
Go where you’re wanted. You’re valuable & don’t need to beg someone for a roster spot. If they’re not showing you love, that’s all the sign you need. There’s a home for you that you don’t know exists yet & you won’t find it if you don’t look 🤞
This isn’t just sports.
@Greatmooze Agreed, as the saying goes, “a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush”.
I tell my players to go where they’re wanted & I myself try to follow the same in recruiting.
There is some unrealistic idea of what some programs can realistically sign, versus their ideal signing.
There are a WHOLE lot of programs at every level still needing goalkeepers and center backs (me included on the CBs).
What do y’all think: Are there just not enough talented ones, are we being unrealistic about the talent we want, or something else?
@TheGoalkeeperU I agree on the unrealistic; I think every coach has a certain level they want, but realistically, every program is not getting the same level of GK. Which is why many coaches end up still scraping for one at the end of the year.
I’m thankful I don’t have that issue with GKs.
@coach_darrin Agreed. There are numerous times I’ve seen a kid that I think could be a good CB based on certain characteristics but they’re playing a completely different position. I’ve moved a few CM to CB before and found some success, somewhat similar to your story
Looking for a tall, athletic defender that can start at center back.
We have scholarship money and dorms available. If you’re looking for a home where you’ll enjoy yourself, and coaches that will move you to a higher division, this is the place to be. 🔥

Transfer players, go where you are wanted and valued. Where you can achieve your goals and enjoy your experience. Pay attention to the roster turnovers and how often players arent returning!
It's not just to play ball, its to find a home and your family!
9 Players from our 2025 team will be playing Division 1 soccer next year. We currently have 3 Division 1 transfers on our 2026 roster. The portal in May is scary and quick. Who wants a different pathway and time to make informed decisions while also competing for championships?
@ImYouthSoccer Having followed her journey, I'd also add that this was a player that went D1 first, bounced back to JUCO at a nationally competitive program, and then bounced back up! Super cool seeing kids use the bounce-back route!
A lot of people talking about players and coaches ghosting each other...
If someone ghosts you, you dodged a bullet. That wasn't your home, and you just didn't know it yet. Be thankful. 🤝
This tweet isn't just about sports.
I just want to give a shoutout to @CoachAliH... bro has unknowingly helped me upgrade how I coach my keeper sessions so much.
Thanks for the videos you put out!
If anyone needs asst. coaches, I have a few former players looking for jobs.
-Former Bolivian National Team defender, bachelor's degree, applying for OPT
-D1 Captain (finishing her masters?). From the Netherlands.
-Brazilian w/ JUCO coaching exp., associates degree & work visa
Sitting at ~22 players for the fall currently.
Looking for a starting quality defender and open to some depth in the midfield that wants to develop more their first year.
Almost done recruiting! We're looking to add a defender for Fall '26!👀
-12+ players moved on to NCAA D1, D2 & NAIA in the last two years.
-We've played 10+ universities in the last two years.
-3.2 team GPA, several Academic All-Americans, free professional tutoring.
Why are so many youth soccer players so angry during games??
I get passion and fire but damn, sometimes the amount of negativity just looks like they’re not even enjoying the sport.
I share not to bash the kid, as I hope she's doing well & appreciate honesty. But I share to show evidence of JUCO's value.
You CAN take the same classes for cheaper, get an offer to your dream school that you didn't get from club. Just need the RIGHT program, coach & mindset
a player told us she'd rather try to go to MSUD & walk-on. Us being 2 hours away was too far from home & her parents weren't fans of community college.
Alea paid $0 here, 3.5 GPA, visits home often. All due respect, the other's playing career is over. JUCO is a viable option 🤷♂️
