Our players put months of work into the weight room this offseason, and last weekend’s Lift-A-Thon showed the results. Proud of the growth our guys have made. Not just in strength/speed numbers, but in discipline, consistency, and accountability to each other.
The standard continues to rise inside our program. A lot of impressive performances across the board, but what stands out most is the way our players continue to compete and push one another every single day.
Thank you to everyone who supported our Lift-A-Thon and helped make the event a success. The future is bright for Maumee Football.

Another reminder this year to kids going to camps:
Seeing some kids "camp schedule" list looking like a grocery list of 15 items. Schools are just taking your money.
If you are a high school player right now looking to do camps:
DO NOT GO TO 10 camps. Go to 3-4 camps and space them out and choose schools that have shown you the most interest at this point.
Keep the main thing...the MAIN THING! Be with your team in the summer. Prepare for a great junior or senior year. PUT IT ON TAPE!!
Pick 1 at the very most 2 mega camps
Pick 1 "Prove you can play there" camp.
Pick 1 " School has shown you the most interest.
We would like to recognize the following Varsity and Freshman players for achieving 90%+ attendance during our Spring Strength Training sessions. Their commitment, consistency, and work ethic throughout the offseason have helped set the standard for our program.
Success is built through daily discipline, and these young men continue to represent Maumee Football the right way. Proud of the investment they are making in themselves and in our program.

This past weekend, our Maumee Football family came together for another successful Lift-A-Thon. We are extremely proud of the effort, competitiveness, and support our players showed throughout the event.
Thank you to all of our families, donors, sponsors, and community members who continue to invest in our program. Your support plays a major role in helping us provide opportunities for our student-athletes.
Looking forward to getting started on June 1st!

One of the most overlooked parts of preseason:
Teach your locker room standards BEFORE the season starts.
Don’t assume players just “know.”
Show them:
how gear should be hung up
where helmets go
how lockers are cleaned
laundry expectations
who handles cleanup
what “done right” actually looks like
Bring them into the locker room.
Show pictures.
Give examples.
Walk them through it.
Then remind them:
A lot of players came before you and helped build this locker room.
They wore the colors.
They cleaned it.
They respected it.
They left it better than they found it.
Now it’s your turn.
Locker room standards may seem small…
…but the locker room culture speaks volumes about a program. And it often times carries over to Friday night.
Reminder that our Lift-A-Thon is tomorrow! Come on out to watch our players compete and get some food from some local food trucks!
We are excited to get the season rolling and no better way to start it off!

5 years ago I consulted with Winnsboro HS. coaches Josh Finney, Tyrus Jones, and Casey Samuels.
They went 100% Feed the Cats.
This morning Coach Finney called to let me know that his sprinter ran 10.02 winning 3A Texas.
“We did tons of jumping and not much running!” ⚡️⚡️⚡️
The average high school head football coach stipend is around $7,000. Fluctuating heavily
For that, they’re expected to coach year-round, run a program, mentor kids, manage parents, recruit their own halls, fundraise, break down film, coordinate staffs, and be available almost 24/7.
Football coaches are grossly underpaid for what we ask of them.
Exposure = Opportunity
Day 1 of this year's Toledo-Area College Showcase might've proved its most important...3 area leagues generated a stage never before been seen, bridging coaches & players together for the 1st time. Special event we have in NW Ohio and it continues to grow!
Yesterday was a great day for Maumee Football.
We had 25+ college coaches come through Kazmaier Stadium to evaluate our players and get a firsthand look at our program. Proud of the way our guys competed, worked, and represented Maumee throughout the day.
The exposure is important, but so is the opportunity to showcase the culture, energy, and direction of our program. Our players handled themselves the right way and made us proud.
Thank you to all of the college coaches who took the time to visit. The future is bright in Maumee.
