4 years ago I was coaching at my kids’ high school girls team we mentioned WNBA and college players and got blank stares. Tonight we’re hosting the team at our house and they’re talking about @paigebueckers1 and @kate_martin22. So glad they have role models to look up to.
To become mentally tougher, you need to increase your tolerance for physical and mental discomfort. The main way to do this is by putting yourself in uncomfortable situations and pushing through them.
If you don’t practice right. You don’t play right.
If you don’t prepare right. You don’t play right.
If you don’t warm up right. You don’t play right.
If you don’t play right. You can usually start with yourself.
You can’t control how you play. You can control YOU !!

As the dad of a kid who has anxiety and is painfully shy, be friendly and take the time to talk to someone new. Just doing that can be a real positive to someone else’s day.
Students,
As you walk the halls, campus or dorms remember a few things.
1. Every person you see could be going through something - say hello , smile and be friendly.
2. It’s easy to isolate. It’s harder to be first to speak. Choose hard. It matters.
3. Be HELPFUL. Speak FIRST
