We have a problem.
Somewhere along the line, “Playing multiple sports is good!” turned into, “you have to play all of your sports simultaneously year round!”
We’ve lost the plot. Kids cannot play a baseball, basketball, and football season all at the same time.
I’m happy to announce that I’m continuing my academic and athletic career at North Central College. I want to recognize the blessing God has given me with this opportunity. I also want to thank my family and coaches for the support they have given me throughout this process.
I’m convinced that relationships have more to do with athlete success than any training plan could alone.
An athlete and coach need to have trust in one another, they need to communicate easily, and the coach has to support the athlete. And most importantly, the coach must authentically care and the athlete must know that without hesitation.
That’s the magic sauce. Kids will run through a wall for you when that’s the case.
The hardest part of that is giving that experience to 70 kids, not just 2 or 3.
