Never, I repeat, NEVER in my life have I seen something quite like this…
What an absolutely insane ending in this Iowa state girls basketball tournament…
What in the world did we just see lol
@bbqsiizzle@USCFootballNews In odd years the games were in South Bend. In even years they were in LA. USC lost the 2020 home game because of Covid. What is so difficult to grasp here?
@USCFootballNews They played out the existing contract. Each team alternated home games. USC lost a home game due to Covid. Stop twisting things to suit a narrative.
To the 1K commenters:
ND lost to A&M and Miami over 3 months ago. By 4 total points.
This is crazy I know, but teams can actually improve over the course of 100 days.
Last season, Ohio State lost close to Oregon, then whooped them 2 months later.
This season, Georgia lost close to Alabama, then whooped them 2 months later.
OSU and Georgia clearly got better and were playing much better football than those opponents by the end of the season.
When you have a 4 team playoff, much more consideration should go to picking the “deserving” teams.
But when you expand all the way to 12, all of the “deserving” teams are already securely in the field. Then you have a few bubble teams vying for the last couple spots.
These teams all had similar resumes over the entire 3 month season, but one team was CLEARLY playing the best ball right now and was the only team that had a real shot to compete for a championship. Every analyst knew it. Vegas knew it. And deep down, the haters knew it. And you left them out.
The entire purpose of playoff expansion was to ensure that no teams with a legitimate chance at winning a natty got left out - yet Notre Dame, the team with the 4th highest odds to win it all going into the selection show, still got screwed.
And then we watched Oklahoma, Alabama, Miami, Texas A&M, Tulane, and JMU all play sad football and prove to everyone what we already knew: that none of them had any shot at seriously contending.
But hey, at least you honored a head to head from August!
And at least you didn’t penalize getting curb stomped in a conference championship game!
And at least you saw past a 3 loss record with a horrific loss to a 5-7 team!
And at least you turned a blind eye to 2 losses to 8-4 teams!
And at least you still have G6 participation trophies!
Sadly, we’ll never know what Notre Dame could’ve done this postseason. But I guarantee it would’ve been better than what we’ve seen so far.
@18_wheeeler@B1OBEY0ND 18-wheeler! Boston College was ranked; it was t a bad loss. Like all ND fans have heard 2 million times, head to head has to matter if two teams have the same record!
@dempsey_andrew@CougarStats As a side note, a lot of people forget that BC was ranked. It wasn’t a horrible loss. A last second FG gave BC the win. ND 1993 National Champions!
