Let’s do the math:
+ coach on the DL
+ practice facility shut down
+ no races as a 4 (COVID)
+ no practices the week before
(COVID recovery protocols)
+ almost missing race
(engine died on truck towing boats)
————
= State Champion 4!
Math can be weird…

Proud that Princeton celebrated Teacher Appreciation Day & in doing so let me recognize educators who made a difference. Besides those in the post, blessed to have teachers like Mike Giblin, Coach Light, and Coach Gluckman https://t.co/xNXANAN3Xu
Next weekend I'll be "freezin' for a reason"…Farmington High School is hosting a "Penguin Plunge". I'm part of the Math Dept's "Below Zero but Above Average" team. Please consider visiting my page (https://t.co/5rrRmOwskR) and donating to support CT Special Olympics. Thanks!
There was confusion regarding transportation times to and from Fisher today. Novices are on their way to AHS and should be there by 4:35. Experienced rowers will arrive at AHS by 5:00. The good news is we’re rigged and ready for water practice on Tuesday.
Tonight is Avon Crew Night at Puerto Vallarta restaurant in Avon! Dine in or take out and say you’re an Avon Crew supporter. 20% of proceeds will be donated to AHS Crew!

This afternoon (Oct 15) the blue bus that brings athletes to Fisher broke down. As a result, we’ll only have one shift of land practice for all rowers. Practice will end at 4:30.
First day on the water brought its complexities for the boys squad today. We (and the traffic on Thompson Rd) delayed the return of the girls squad. 20 mins late is NOT the norm.
Former Avon rowers hold titles like State Champion and New England Champion. We can now add World Record Holder as Libby Costello, who started her career with Avon, was one of four women who recently set the record rowing from CA to Hawaii. Congrats Libby! https://t.co/3w4xA7dCYX

First time with all novice crews at Batterson. Good focus from everyone and big contributions from Dalton, Natalie, Aelittta, Vitalia, and Lily to maximize the number of rowers on the water. Unfortunately, we’re running about 15 mins behind schedule.
