Curt Cignetti describes the mindset and the steps it takes to be great.
"It's a process and it's a way you go about doin' things. It's a standard, it's an expectation. A high standard, a high expectation, it's accountability. It's discipline, commitment, toughness, work ethic, pride."
Greatness comes from what you consistently do.
"It's wantin' to be great versus wantin' to be normal. And normal kind of equals average and average is okay."
Average isn't bad - it's just not great. And greatness requires something different.
"To be great you gotta have special focus, special commitment, special preparation and discipline, and the ability to say no to some things."
It requires you to do be willing to do more. It means competing and bringing a mindset of excellence to everything you do. It starts with being intentional.
"Every play has got a life and a history of its own. Play every play like it's nothin' nothin'. Don't be affected by success or failure. Be able to compartmentalize and go to the next play."
That's the mindset - focus and execution over excuses.
"You get to the end of the game, game's on the line, you're used to practicing that way, playing that way. You're just doin' your thing. That guy is lookin' at the scoreboard and he's tightenin' up a little bit."
Anyone can go through the motions. But to be great, you have to practice like it matters.

Love making plays, but even better because in true Chattahoochee fashion, everybody did their part and we came away with the W. Great teamwork. Attitude is everything. Let’s go!

Started my first HS football job volunteering on Fridays. I walked around with a lamp and a binder for the OC. I sat in the box and just charted plays. Fast forward to this Friday where we were able to get a W but my first W as a HC. On to the next one.
Yesterday against West Hall, it was my first game starting at the CB position on varsity . I had 2 pbus and no catches allowed. We won 33-6 in a blowout win. The culture is changing at Chattahoochee and we’re stacking days. #AIE@HoochFootball
Appreciating Coach Jordan Harris @BigSkippin_75 for the recognition. Looking forward to competing this season and continuing to show what I can do on the field. Ready to work, let’s go! #AGTG
@TheGridironHQ We build pursuit into our formation rec. drills. Align and run the stunt/get in pass drops, then take off to next set of cans & scout players. On 3rd rep, chase runner then twos go in and do the same cycle. Punish lack of pursuit during team periods b/w plays. Shows up on film.
First-year Packers special teams coordinator Cam Achord was asked how Trey Smack likes his kicks to be held.
He then came off the podium and did this for almost two minutes.
Enjoy.
