I’ve heard the saying that “God gives his toughest battles to his toughest soldiers.” But when I see the disciples that Jesus chose and suffered for His name sake, I don’t see Him choosing the “toughest soldiers”, as I learn about men and women in the past and even today who have laid down their lives for Jesus, once again I don’t see God choosing His “toughest soldiers.” But I see a strong and mighty God choosing weak men and woman, and empowering them by His Holy Spirit to face some of the toughest battles and be used for His glory.
I once thought I was a “tough soldier” until I met Jesus, I then realized that I’m so weak without Him, and apart from Jesus I cant do anything. I need Jesus daily. The only way that I can truly become who God wants me to be and truly do what God wants me to do, is not by my power not by my might, but only by The Spirit of The Living God. Thank you Jesus.
My High School Coach is LAZY‼️
I hear this a lot and quickly educate the parent this way:
Your HS coach has to coach Football, Track, plus Wrestling
Has 220 students and those parents to keep happy and take care of.
Papers to grade for 2 hours a night.
Early AM weight room duty (unpaid)
Plus, kids of his own at home that he hasn’t seen in 4 months and a wife who’s stressed to the max because she’s a single mom most of the year.
Lazy…I think not. The system isn’t set up for you to have a full-time non-stop hands on personal wrestling coach like the college men and women have.
It’s called HS athletics.
So go easy on them…they’re likely putting in a lot more hours a week than 95% of America is.
The WNBA posted a video of Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers betting $400 on which woman’s team would win. Then deleted it after realizing this violates league rules. This entire league is run by morons.
PSA to Florida high school football players: Once you hit the practice field officially on July 27th, that team you begin practicing with is who you’re with for the 2026 #hsfb season, per the FHSAA.
There’s no checking out a few practices and changing your mind. You begin practicing with that team, that’s who you’ll be with, pending any extraordinary circumstances.
I can definitely see into the crystal ball 🔮 that there will be kids, families that will challenge this new rule and that will be the interesting part is how the state association handles the case-by-case basis folks.
Tavares (Fla.) HS football coach Gavin Jones went viral at Central Florida Media Day by wearing a t-shirt reading "We Coach, They Poach" to protest losing nearly 20 players to transfers this offseason, including a 1,400-yard rusher and top-tier linebackers.
I love coaching where I coach.
Imagine being a high school athlete and your coach tells you that on Friday nights you get to play RB, LB, return kicks and punt the ball. You get to play 120+ snaps under the lights!
Compared to that kid who plays at a large high school with 120 kids on the roster and get's to play only one side of the ball. Maybe 60 snaps if he is lucky.
Play 10 games. Athlete #1 plays 1,200 snaps. Athlete #2 plays 600 snaps.
Smaller school football is where it's at.
But coach, I gotta play for a big school so I can get noticed by colleges.
Nah...
How about you play at a smaller school where you play 120+ plays per game, show how versatile you are and dominate your division.
College coaches will find you. I promise you that.
Unpopular #Teacher opinion:
Technology has not improved every lesson. Sometimes a pencil, a sheet of paper, and direct instruction work better than logging into five apps.
