Kids hear what you say, but even more important, they also see what you do. They’ll emulate your behavior, copy your actions, words & attitude. They’ll adopt your beliefs & treat others the way you do. Our biggest responsibility is to portray the traits we want them to possess!
It’s that time of year again. Some people believe teachers have paid summer vacation. Here’s a recap:
-we are 10 month employees not 12
-our pay is spread over 12 months
-summer pay is money we’ve already earned
-we are still teaching/learning/planning during the summer
Players: Coaches should never have to coach your effort. Whether it’s practice, games or weight room, discipline yourself to give your best without being coddled through it. Anything less & you’re just fooling yourself. There are no secrets to improvement! It takes what it takes!
If you have a former coach who you can still call, Snap, Facebook, text, FaceTime, etc. then you had a coach who put you first & created lifelong, caring relationships with players. That isn’t always the case, so consider yourself lucky & keep those relationships close to heart.
@Ted14187682 @KirkPratt3@M4A_is_a_taxcut @PaAlbatross @kevinbrennan666@clay_mcch Haha I don’t think so. 🤣 I really love hearing that about your football coach too as that wasn’t the reputation of football coaches in the area where I used to teach. So even more props to your HS football coach as that amount of time he had to invest was incredible.
@Ted14187682 @M4A_is_a_taxcut @PaAlbatross @kevinbrennan666@clay_mcch And you didn’t answer my question but yet had time to respond... maybe your teacher friend should take time to help you? 🤣 I’m just being mean here and don’t mean to be rude, I’m just glad we can have open dialogue. Everyone have a great day. 😁
@KirkPratt3 @Ted14187682 @M4A_is_a_taxcut @PaAlbatross @kevinbrennan666@clay_mcch So true man! Now that I have left teaching, I realize the pace of teaching is not sustainable in other jobs to have retention. Having the perspective of being in the classroom and to now look back, I hope more people become educated that teaching is a tough task. Keep rocking man
PSA: if you have NEVER taught in public education, then you REALLY shouldn’t provide your “input” on the profession. If it’s that easy to provide input, then just become a teacher, right? I was blessed to say I taught for 14 years, but the system needs attention and resources.
@Hokie_Diver I consider those of us who have left to be very blessed. Think about it... we have had thousands of positive memories and relationships with students to last us 7 lifetimes; the best part though... we get to avoid the unfortunate situations that continue to exist.
