Color me somewhat shocked that Indiana didn’t go for *that* 4th down to ice the National Championship after going for the previous 2 & their Heisman Trophy winner coming through each time.
The very important distinction here that everyone seems to be forgetting is that BYU got blown out by Texas Tech for the 2nd time.
Bama beat the Georgia in Athens, then lost to them yesterday in the rematch.
The movement/non movement in the rankings for both is not the same
So, BYU was penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game (dropped one spot). Which allowed Miami to move up and get compared directly to Notre Dame.
But Alabama was not penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game.
The CFP committee made the necessary changes from last year to this year, and now there’s a few more changes that need to be made. The biggest one being that it’s time to get rid of the conference championship games. This isn’t the old CFB anymore. The title games are meaningless
