The kids I have worked with that have the most variety in footage are the ones who have had the quickest success and offers from schools they were genuinely interested in.
Example - Outfielder
1. “Controlled” footage - Reps that show ground coverage, speed, angels, short balls, GB’s, throws to home, 2B, 3B etc… accompanied by BP footage of side view and behind view.
2. Game Footage - Singles, doubles etc against quality pitching.. stolen bases, beating out a throw (if you have speed), small ball.
3. “Lonely Work” or practice footage

They have a lot of it…
👇🏽 Parents & Athletes — let's clear this up!
Once upon a time, an "offer" meant a scholarship— real financial aid, and they only offered you if they truly wanted you.
Now the word offer gets used for 3 things:
1️⃣ Scholarship Offer - money attached.
2️⃣ Preferred Walk-On (PWO) - roster spot.
3️⃣ Non-Committable Offer - They usually don’t tell you it’s non-committable: but basically a school likes you, but you can't commit yet / or sometimes not at all.
💡 Always ask: "Is this offer committable, scholarship, or walk-on?"
Knowing the difference can save you from a lot of confusion later. Trust me! 🙏🏽
🚨 READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IN COLLEGE 🚨
Everyone posts their wins.
Everyone shows the rankings.
Everyone talks about “exposure.”
But here’s the truth that nobody wants to admit:
✅ Coaches recruit who reaches out
✅ Coaches recruit who communicates consistently
✅ Coaches recruit who responds fast
✅ Coaches recruit who shows personality + effort
✅ Coaches recruit character, not just stats
You don’t need to be the best player in the country.
You need to be the athlete who:
🔥 Emails every week
🔥 Sends schedules
🔥 Updates video and metrics
🔥 Replies professionally
🔥 Builds REAL relationships
🔥 Doesn’t quit when it gets hard
Stop waiting to be “found.”
Start taking action to be recruited.
The athletes who commit aren’t lucky…
They’re intentional.
If you’re serious about playing in college:
👇 type “I’m all in” and I’ll send you 3 things to start doing THIS WEEK.
The transfer portal has made the pool of athletes even larger to choose from.. and some coaches would prefer a transfer athlete who has already shown they can compete at the college level vs a HS athlete who is new to the space. So slower to pull the trigger on HS recruits because they don’t know what could come out of the portal or who may move on from their program! Not saying this is everywhere, but it is impact a lot of athletes. This is only one perspective though. I’m sure school to school there are a lot of variables
If you are truly seeing the amount of 2026’s de-committing and committing elsewhere.. you’ll understand why the 2027 landscape and every one that comes after it will be that much harder.
The transfer portal makes the pool of athletes to choose from even bigger. So some coaches prefer a transfer athlete who has already proven themselves at the college level VS a HS athlete who is new to the space! If you want some more specifics, feel free to shoot me a DM! Love your curiosity
@McCaskillL_2028 It makes the space super competitive for sure! Especially because you’re now competing for spots against kids who have already shown they can perform at the college level!
A successful weekend, super proud of my team for landing 1st place! There were definitely times a fight was put up, but God led the way. As we close out the weekend just know the work will continue to be put in. @jodyarmijo11@BlinnSoftball@BombersCerv16U@CoachMariaWinn
