It’s simple to me. If a coach can cut a player (not renew scholarship) each year, the players should be able to transfer each year. Some people are complaining about the transfer portal but are okay with athletic scholarships not being renewed. That’s not ok.
Here are some NCAA Transfer Portal statistics:
Only 30% of Division II student-athletes who enter the portal find a new program. Of that 30%, just 33% move up to the Division I level, while 60% remain in Division II. These figures apply to first-time transfers only.
Allowing unlimited transfers without restrictions hinders many student-athletes and makes timely graduation far more difficult.
The one-time transfer exception often referenced was once the standard rule, and it worked effectively.
Coaches at every level, particularly in certain sports, are already experiencing significant burnout due to annual roster turnover.
We must regain control of this issue and begin pushing back. While we have adapted - and will continue to adapt - to the "new normal," we risk losing sight of the true value of an education and a degree.
College is not a four-year decision - it is a forty-year decision.
One of the most unique rivalries in all of college sports! It would be an awesome experience for the players, the Arkadelphia community and the @CollegeGameDay crew!
But some of yall can’t lift 2 days before your elite super select tournament where you travel 300 miles to play teams that are within 10 miles of each other
Coastal Carolina’s Kevin Schnall goes at the umpire that said he was suspended for 2 games for ‘bumping’
“There was a guy who came in extremely aggressively, tripped over Campos foot. Embarrassed in front of 25,000, immediately goes 2 game suspension, said bumping the umpire..”
Yes, I miss coaching football, but this is what my coaching career looks like these days. Coaching my own daughter at Southern Sectionals. And I wouldn’t change it for anything!
Having a certified SC must be a priority! Certification does not make you a good strength coach, but it proves that you have a level of knowledge necessary to be a good strength coach!
Reasons #1-1000 to have a qualified HS S&C is SAFETY!! “You’re not going to trip and fall in English class and break your arm but you can in the weight room”!! @CoachMAguilar @NHSSCA_TX
