@Sehranyounus@TouchlineX Olise’s numbers this season is top level output, Dembele was untouchable last season and is still providing this year, arguments can be made for both
@WeAreTheOverlap@Carra23 Name ONE player who can realistically replace Salah right now…
It’s not just goals - it’s availability, consistency and output over years. That’s what’s irreplaceable
@Afc_daniels @twino_nick@eurofootcom Raya deserves credit, absolutely.
My point is just that Arsenal’s defensive structure is also a huge reason for those clean sheets. Both things can exist at the same time
@twino_nick @Afc_daniels @eurofootcom My point isn’t that clean sheets ONLY come from defensive structure.
It’s that they’re heavily influenced by it.
Goalkeeper performance + team structure both play a role
@twino_nick @bombc_fm @eurofootcom Good point. But the best goalkeepers usually have both — great individual ability and strong teams around them.
My point is simply that clean sheets alone don’t isolate the goalkeeper’s performance
@bombc_fm @eurofootcom Fair point. Raya is clearly a very good goalkeeper.
My only point is that elite defensive structures naturally reduce the volume and quality of shots a keeper faces, which helps the clean sheet numbers too
Both can be true.
Raya can be having a great season and the defensive structure in front of him can be excellent.
Clean sheets are rarely JUST about the goalkeeper.
Golden Glove in basic terms of course means “best goalkeeper”… however a goalkeeper doesn’t get the award alone. It’s earned with the best defensive team over a season.
No doubt he’s made important saves.
My point is simply that clean sheets are heavily influenced by the defensive structure.
Arsenal defend extremely well as a team.
Absolutely, he’s made big saves but when a team consistently limits the quality of chances they concede, it naturally boosts the goalkeeper’s numbers too…
@S6445634942625@OneFootball Forwards are very strong. The midfield quality is good. The real question is whether the defensive organisation can hold up against the top nations
