@Michael_Cerami He actually Managed the game good. This roster should easily get 5+ runs a game in Coors field. This should have been a snoozer game for him to manage.
@CubsWorld80 He's never been elite! The guy just goes up there throwing darts. When he can't locate, he's average at best. You could tell from the first batter that he was done. He's perfect trade bait and one of the few that has some value
@_Cowboy_Town@Cubs I said at the beginning of the year that Jed made a mistake by not getting a leadoff hitter. That was the key in 2016! I got bashed. Everyone wanted Bregman, now there mad. Not much for Jed to shop now. Maybe someone will take Amaya. I’d dangle Palencia too.
@Davey_Baseball Yup, but everyone was posting how they needed Alcantara called up immediately and this is what happens. Now, he’s not worth sh-t at the deadline.
@JesseRogersESPN Glad that he owning it, but it’s time for Craig to sit him for a series or 2 and do the same for some of the other guys that are dragging the team down.
@JesseRogersESPN I wasn’t expecting much. Even, if he wasn’t doubled off, Happ still would have K’d, and Seiya is the worst hitter in the league with RISP.
@JesseRogersESPN Too bad for Jamo. Looks like a hammy. I know it was a small sample size last year, but Soroka is having a nice season so far in AZ. Could have helped the Cubs with all the injuries.
@PJ_Mooney@NSideTerritory@FoulTerritoryTV@sahadevsharma All the talk about acquiring pitching. Why not be buyers for some contact hitters? A few key hits, or simply moving runners over, and nobody would be talking about the Cubs skid.
@CubsWorld80 To his defense. This platform was ripping him and TR for not spending. 95% of the fans wanted Bregman, and were happy with the Nico and PCA extensions. Hopefully they can turn it around.
@willgchase I remember the Marlins in 03 canning their Manager and things turned around with the same team. I don't blame Craig for the pitching injuries and he doesn't hit the ball. I do blame him for the head scratching line up and batting order.
@jacobzanolla A couple issues with selling. Why would anyone want our struggling players? Also, Jed gives a NTC to almost everyone, so his hands are tied. I still think they can turn it around, then Jed, if he's not canned, needs to let player walk in a walk year.
@capihood@ESPNRittenberg Don’t forget Dansby and Seiya too. Actually, PCA did contribute, but still choked at the end. Let’s hope Happ continues to hit. They need him
@capihood@ESPNRittenberg We can agree to disagree. Batting average can be misleading, but batting average with runners is scoring position is huge! And he has failed miserably. Sorry, but I would take all these players ahead of Happ with the game on the line:
Nico, PCA, Busch, Kelly, Bregman, and Shaw.
@capihood@ESPNRittenberg Stealing 3rd is a little easier with righty batting and PCA still would have a good chance of being safe at 2nd.
I'll disagree with you on Seiya/Happ. If they did anything with RISP, this wouldn't be a discussion.
Last, Happ .227 Ba and .197 w/RISP. (around 125th in MLB)
@oso4lyf@JordanCFanSided I'll disagree with you on McCaskey's. I'll never give them credit. I think if the Bears were up for sale, you would see consistent winners. You have a good point with the rest. The Brewer thing always bugged me too.
@Michael_Cerami I disagree Michael. I think he is declining on defense. His arm is not as strong and there is no stat for the amount of balls he's pulled up on the last 2 seasons that other players go for. I don't think he's bad, just not close to elite or gold glove.
