This tweet is PURE GOLD. For any random twitter reader this is nothing, but to us #football coaches - you'll know.
Man, I really do love football!

@SoonerVirginia@homer78749@HalMumme I read it, once a year, every year, and it's always the week AFTER the Super Bowl. It's become this word annual "tradition" of mine. It reminds me WHY I love football the way I do.
@ptbt70@dirkchatelain Boom. This one right here, and I get both sides of this argument, but again, it just adds to how convoluted this problem REALLY is.
@tjmcdougal@dirkchatelain A few questions here, and answer the best you can, but does this show and have more parity top to bottom? Are your traditional bottom feeders getting more wins?
Relegation based on win percentage and enrollment. Keep moving teams down if they donβt win at least 30% of their games. Move teams up winning at a 75% or better clip. Many Denver Public Schools compete in a division much lower than their population and they donβt dominate, just more competitive.
@ABrandt42@dirkchatelain@ABrandt42 What you said about youth sports is the BIGGEST issue, in my opinion. Society has deemed or shown, "Specialize sooner - it's better." No, it's not. Mountains of research prove exactly that. Additionally, where things to be fixed are at the middle school levels as well.
@SupremelyChris@dirkchatelain@SupremelyChris Now, this is a good thought, but the problem is, when you do this - you're going to get an argument of: is the sub .500 record team in the tougher district better than a plus .500 record in the weaker. Additionally, it doesn't give as much parity.
@HuzkerDan@dirkchatelain@HuzkerDan Actually, Minnesota has been doing that for years now. Iowa just jumped on board with it, and it's on its second full season (they classify ONLY football with this criteria). It's a great start, but it's not going to fix everything.
@AntwanWilson17@dirkchatelain@AntwanWilson17 Thanks, my man! Unfortunately, nothing is going to "cure" or "fix" these problems overnight. It's a multifaceted problem. That's going to need a multifaceted solution. What does that take? Well, the powers that be, gotta compromise. But I digress.
@Amie_Just I'm interested to hear your thoughts. If you'd like to share. I've been apart of high school football for a long time, and this "issue" isn't going away anytime soon.
@dirkchatelain Millard Southβs final game of the regular season is against Benson β a team that Lincoln High beat, 43-3.
And I⦠have many thoughts.

@dirkchatelain To their respective athletic programs and those that aren't. Additionally, in those 3 states - open enrollment is everywhere, and that doesn't help. It's unfortunate, and what's more, schools that haven't been historically very competitive see it the most.
@dirkchatelain It's happening everywhere. I know this, because I've coached football in the highest classes of 3 different states, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Iowa. It's happening all over. What it is, in short, there are some schools that have allocated and dedicated the proper funds...
@JeremyFrisch, I got thrown into coaching ninja classes at a gym in my area...... I'm totally gonna "steal" some of these ideas! If you're okay with that!!
@rayzingler this is really great stuff right here!! I'm jumping into a new coaching realm - ninja warrior, and it's been interesting to say the least! I'm jumping all in, and seeing what happens! Any tips, tricks, ideas, thoughts, etc. I'M ALL EARS!!!
