It takes 1 player who
• doesnt work hard
• badmouths coaches in locker room
• doesnt bring energy
• pushes team rules
• has bad body language
• complains on the bench
To completely ruin the entireteam culture + chemistry. Dont be that one player. Buy in and be Team First.
Successful Head Coaches empower their assistants and their athletes to make decisions and build trust. If they believe in having that trust, they won’t fear making mistakes - Which we all do. That trust creates a teaching, fixing and learning environment for success.
"KOBE BRYANT’S 10 RULES

9. Believe in your team
10. Learn storytelling"
If you can’t do it with intensity/focus in practice, then you aren’t gonna be able to do it in a game. You over exaggerate in practice because there’s always slippage in a game. As the Navy SEALs always say: you don’t rise to the occasion; you sink to the level of your training!
Your effort is a choice.
Your attitude is a choice.
Your actions are a choice.
Your communication is a choice.
Your leadership is a choice.
Your level of belief is a choice.
Your commitment is a choice.
Getting better starts with making better choices. Take ownership.
“Winning is fun...Sure. But winning is not the point. Wanting to win is the point. Not giving up is the point. Never letting up is the point. Never being satisfied with what you've done is the point.”
- Pat Summitt

3️⃣ Doesn’t encourage teammates
4️⃣ Shuts down when coached hard
5️⃣ Pouts when subbed out or when on the bench

BAD teams never talk.
AVERAGE teams talk when they're winning.
GOOD teams talk often.
GREAT teams never stop talking.
CHAMPIONSHIP teams always talk about talking more... in huddles, at halftime, in time outs!

Letting someone else take the reins when it comes to your child is very hard to do, but it’s also necessary to step aside & let the coaching staff do the coaching. They’ll challenge/teach your kid; they’re supposed to. Adversity & accountability provide invaluable life lessons!
PLAYERS: "Captain" is a position, status, or title you possess but leadership is an action. The "C" on your jersey doesn't make your team better. Your actions and words make your team better. Do you have a positive influence or just a position?
“The sign of a really good player is someone who can have an impact on the game where they don’t necessarily shoot it. They can do other things that help their team win. Players have to learn that.”
-Geno Auriemma
