📚⚽ Inspiring a love of reading through the power of football!
We were delighted to welcome 90 Year 5 pupils from Coates Way, Watford St John’s, and Willow Tree to Vicarage Road for our Premier League Primary Stars Author Day as part of the National Year of Reading initiative.
From football-themed literacy activities and creative workshops with visiting author @sethburkett , to a special visit from Harry the Hornet, the day was packed full of creativity, learning and fun ❤️
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the event so memorable, including Matt Turmaine, @Anna_Filbey99, the Premier League Foundation, the @Literacy_Trust and our fantastic partner schools.

St Nicholas Church of England Primary School in Elstree welcomed a special visit from the Mayor, shining a spotlight on the positive impact of sport and education through sessions delivered by Watford FC’s Community Sports & Education Trust as part of the Premier League Primary Stars initiative ⚽️
The visit highlighted the school’s ongoing efforts to support pupils despite significant challenges. With concerns around potential closure, the focus remains on protecting the mental health and wellbeing of both pupils and staff during this uncertain period.
A powerful reminder that, regardless of the challenges, initiatives like Premier League Primary Stars play a crucial role in nurturing wellbeing, raising aspirations, and keeping school communities strong 💛

We recently held a fantastic Pupil Voice session as part of our Premier League Primary Stars programme at St Mary’s Primary Northchurch. Listening to our pupils is key to ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality sessions that meet their needs and interests. Children shared their thoughts through written feedback, group discussions with coaches, and fun physical activities designed to capture their ideas. It was great to hear such thoughtful and creative ideas – we’re excited to build these into future sessions!

To celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, our Premier League Primary Stars pupils were challenged to design a football stadium where every child could feel happy, safe, included and proud to belong. After reviewing hundreds of brilliant entries, our Health & Wellbeing team selected Dev (Year 4) as the winner!
The other photos showcase some of our favourite designs from partner schools 💛
Well done Dev, and to everyone else who entered!

🎄This Holiday season, we’re inviting schools to take part in a special Premier League Primary Stars workshop inspired by one of the most powerful stories in sporting and human history – The Christmas Truce of 1914 🎄
In these seasonal workshops, pupils will share the story of the incredible moment during World War I, when opposing soldiers paused fighting to share in a moment of peace – and even played a game of football together!

This week, Premier League Primary Stars schools have been supporting Anti-Bullying week and using their 'Power for Good'!
Pupils thought about the different roles involved in bullying and how good choices can be made to tackle it. They identified which powers they could continue to use to be an Anti-Bullying Hero!
