Not against the 2 out 3 format…Don’t have much sympathy for schools with full scholarships and a large NIL budget who snag top mid major players…Develop your arms…you shouldn’t have an issue coming up with 8-10 arms to get thru a regional.

Auburn Coach Butch Thompson raises concern about the amount of starting pitchers that were coming back, throwing again, and totaling over 100 pitches during Regional weekend of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

So many new eyeballs are finding College Baseball’s postseason fascinating because of the Tournament format and all the chaos that we’ve seen over the past two years. I have no doubt that the ratings have boomed. I don’t know why you would try to fix what is not broken, then again they changed the NCAA Basketball Tournament too.

HOWEVER, Butch has a point with the usage of pitchers in a 3-game series vs playing 5 games in a weekend. This is the biggest/best argument you can make against the current NCAAT format. I am not a fan of change, but I’m willing to provide a platform for passionate individuals with incredibly illustrative thoughts on a new NCAA Tournament format that logically makes sense given the current academic calendar.

Such a ridiculous rule…100% deserved to be ejected, but now he has to sit.
Home plate umpire should have to sit next game for that horrendous call. Catcher only pulled the ball back about 10 inches.

Hey McGonigle… if the Tigers actually had hitting coaches with REAL big league experience, somebody would’ve already told you this. MOVE OFF THE DAMN PLATE 1-2 INCHES.

Right now pitchers own you inside. And because they own you inside, they’ve got you cheating, sped up, and missing the pitches middle and middle-away — the pitches you’re built to destroy.

This league isn’t untouchable, buddy. You’re getting a cookie every single AB. But until you prove you can handle the inner third, they’re gonna keep shoving it down your throat.

Move off. Free your hands. Get them out of there inside. Then go right back to smoking balls gap-to-gap like you were 2 weeks ago.

And THIS is exactly why organizations look stupid hiring “hitting experts” whose entire résumé is a certificate, a laptop, and some JUCO at-bats from 15 years ago.

Real baseball people already know I’m right. The spreadsheet crowd will cry about it.
