The Tigers were able to move the ball in the first half but had to settle for 3 fields goals by Senior kicker Cannon Cook. On the other side of the ball, the East Valley offense was scoring touchdowns.
Senior defensive end Nolan Radder intercepted a screen pass and ran it 10 yards for a TD right before the end of the first half to bring the score to 35-16.
After a scoreless third quarter, East Valley’s run game and their 230 lb tailback began to wear the Tigers down in the 4th quarter.
On the final play of the game, senior QB Owen Stewart connect with senior WR Evan Forthun for a 73 yd touchdown.
The Tigers finish their season with an overall record of 6-5, a “Round of 32” playoff win over North Kitsap, and their first State Playoff appearance since 2018.

The B-E Tigers travelled north to Civic Stadium to face the B’ham Baywawks and dominated in a big way by sticking to their winning formula, which is running the football and playing lock down solid defense.
The two headed rushing attack of Senior running back Jake Lowell @JakeLowell7 and Senior quarterback Owen Stewart @OwenStewart00 accounted for 151 yards rushing and two TD’s.
The Tigers also made some big plays on special teams and defense. Brayden Crow @Brayden_Crow9 returned the 2nd half opening kickoff 95 yards for a TD. He also had an interception in the game from his free safety position.
Bryce Fair recovered a touchdown in the endzone after the Tigers tackled the Bayhawk’s punter on a bad long snap in the 3rd quarter.
The Tigers improve to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in the NWC 2A division.

The Skagit Prep #FridayNightLights Week 3 Football Player of the Week is Burlington-Edison Senior QB, Owen Stewart.
Stewart was pivotal in his team’s 17-14 come from behind win over their cross-river rival Mount Vernon Bulldogs in the 119th Battle of the Bridge.
He scored the game tying TD in the 4th quarter on a 12 yard run to make the score 14-14 and led the Tigers with some key runs on their final drive, winning on a 25 yard Field Goal as time expired.
