🌱 Grafflin third graders in Mrs. Cardinale’s class take turns caring for classroom plants as student horticulturists, enjoy salads from the schoolwide harvest and track bird sightings on the class birder chart each morning. #WeAreChappaqua@CoachSpillane
Young leaders, a job well done at Grafflin. 💙🧡
Grafflin’s fourth-grade Student Government members took on leadership roles throughout the year through Earth Day projects, donation drives, reading with younger students and more. #WeAreChappaqua@CoachSpillane
🌿 Grafflin’s hydroponics lab is growing more than plants.
Led by Linda Bosco, the space has become a spot where students can study plants, read, play games with classmates and enjoy a quiet moment during the day. 🌱

Watch what happens when science bubbles up at Grafflin.
To wrap their unit on fast and slow changes, Ms. Mancuso’s second graders created model volcano eruptions, exploring how heat and pressure beneath the Earth’s crust lead to real eruptions.

DG kindergarteners celebrated a huge milestone with a Book Parade! After building "super powers" in sight words and CVC decoding, they proudly marched through the halls to cheers from the big kids. Love seeing our young learners gain the confidence to read all by themselves.
A Flurry of Friendly Competition ❄️
First-year students teamed up with peer ambassadors as part of the New Student Program at Grafflin for a laughter-filled indoor “snowball” match before the break - no winter coats required.

Third graders wrapped up their forces & motion unit by building a screen-free arcade using gravity, friction, magnets, pushes & pulls. Families came to play — and students explained the science behind every game. #WeAreChappaqua@CoachSpillane
Ms. McCarthy’s 2nd graders at Grafflin published their informational chapter books! Students chose topics they know and care about, organized facts into chapters, used expert vocabulary, created glossaries and shared them with their classmates.

🪨 Rock Solid Learning at Grafflin!
Ms. McCarthy’s 2nd grade class enjoyed a visit from PNW BOCES’ Center for Environmental Education, learning how rocks and minerals form and change, a connection to their Fast and Slow Earth Changes science unit. #WeAreChappaqua@pnwboces
Grafflin students enjoyed a morning of shared reading as guest readers visited classrooms. 4th graders were read to by Board of Education leaders and over 20 Greeley High School students shared stories with younger grades. 📚
